Daft Punk in the Studio Again!!
This just in! Recieved an email from In The Mix informing me of a recent interview with Busy P. Here's the article:
Yes, you read that headline correct! After annihilating Australian audiences late last year on the NeverEverLand tour, everybody’s favourite French robots are finally settling down to record more music. ITM got the scoop from someone who would know – their manager for the past 12 years Busy P! Otherwise known as Pedro Winter – the owner of the notorious Ed Banger Records – he was chatting to inthemix about his label’s brand new compilation Ed Rec Vol III when he dropped the bomb on Daft Punk’s studio plans. “The boys are in a studio in Paris at the moment,” he revealed to ITM. “And I can’t wait to listen to their new stuff! The good thing is that they are making music at the moment.” While those creative juices are flowing again, it’s not known at this stage when the new album might see the light of day. “They are slow, you know,” Busy P laughed when asked. “They are taking their time, and they have a right.” Busy P also revealed that he recently decided to step down from the massive task of managing Daft Punk in order to allow him to focus all his energies on the Ed Banger record label. “I’ve stopped working with them really recently, because I want to focus and concentrate on Ed Banger and my artists, and my own career as Busy P.” But after managing Daft Punk for 12 years, it’s a safe bet that the relationship will continue to be a tight one. So what sort of sound will we be hearing from Daft Punk? Their last studio release was 2005’s Human After All, for which the duo received something of a critical flogging. It led many to declare them as ‘done and dusted’, but before long they smashed back with their world-beating live show, debuted at Coachella in 2006. Who knows: maybe we’ll be treated to something as massive and influential as their debut Homework and its flawless follow-up Discovery? The possibilities are endless. [original article] |

New-look Daft Club finally Ready!
Welcome to the new look Daft Club! After a long day spent slaving over the site all is finally ready to be revealed! Here is just a quick rundown of everything that's new to this version, and also what's still left to be done! First off, here's what's new!
-> New layout and appearance -> A chat room -> RSS support for news and forum -> View all members page -> Member map in profiles and view all members page -> Updated tour section -> Shop -> You can now pick Alive 2007 as your favourite album As you know it's taken me ages to get all this done, but unfortunately I've not had enough time to complete all the sections, so there's still some content missing. I am working flat out in all my spare time to get this added and get the site 100% finished, but in the mean time please be patient. Anyway, here's what's going to be added very shortly: -> Ability to switch website skins/themes -> Redesigned Daft Club Radio -> Completed tour section, with info/pics/video on each show etc -> Completed discography, with info on each release (and links into shop) -> More items in shop, including Daft Club branded merch! -> Review of info and media/links section (adding new links and deleting broken/irrelevant entries). -> More default avatars to chose from -> Maybe some more smilies too So there you go! I hope you like it, and I'll keep you informed of any further updates!! You can discuss all the updates on our forum in this thread Spud in Disguise (a.k.a. Daft Club Admin) |

New Site & Robot After All Vol.1 Out!
Well, today there are lots of things to update you on!
First of all we have set a date for the switch over to the new design for the site. All of you who have signed up will have received a PM about this but for those of you that are viewing as guests be warned that for the duration of the switch over the site will be inaccessible. Hopefully this won’t be for more than a few hours though. The changes are going to be made next Wednesday on the 30th of April. Secondly as the site is expanding quite fast we are now looking for more people to join the admin team. Specifically we need a few more mods/assistant admins, a picture gallery administrator, a video gallery administrator and a news admin. For more details on these roles and to apply go here. And finally I’d like to let you all know that the project ‘Robot After All’, done by several members of the Daft Club has released it’s first album of fan made remixes. You can find download links for the album Robot After All Vol. 1 here, and you can visit their site at: www.robotafterall.tk. |
