History of The Daft Club

The Daft Club is a fansite and online community dedicated to the French House music duo Daft Punk. We are 100% unofficial, at present we are not endorsed by the band themselves, and we have no affiliation with the original Daft Punk website daftclub.com (which was shut down some years ago). We aim to be the best resource for new and die-hard fans with all our features available for free.

At present we believe this site to be the most popular English speaking Daft Punk fansite (based on visitor numbers and user participation).

Our webmaster Spud in Disguise setup the Daft Club in early 2007. Originally created out of procrastination during the exam period Spud has often said that he was “just looking for a Daft Punk community to join… But there wasn’t one, so I created it!” Now helped out by a full team of moderators and admin Spud still heads up the Daft Club team.

At it’s heart the Daft Club has always featured a strong community – existing for a while simply as a forum. Over the years new sections and features have been introduced. Although there has never been any recognition of the site from the band, there has been some minor involvement from their record labels, in particular SOMA Recordings.
