What do you hope to come from DP for 2009?

I think everyone is hoping for a new album in 2009. I know I am. I think the every four years in March thing is unlikely though, because it's already mid January and we have very little evidence that they are working on a new album. It's more likely they are going to do something for 9/9/09, if its a new album or something else I don't know, but I have a good feeling about 2009 =D

I'm still hopeful of a March release for the new album, they like to keep a lid on anything new but already Busy P, Joachim Garraud and JFK (MSTRKRFT) have all mentioned Daft being in the studio, and I actually believe we will hear an announcement very soon... fingers crossed. I can't wait!

After the Alive tour, they were pretty clear that they would not be touring in 2008 to focus on creating new material. Hopefully they've been as busy as they anticipated!

This. The HAA leak ruined their chances of critical success, with the detachment and suspicion that surrounds any alleged appearance of an album pre-release causing us to think it was a fake. By the time it was official, we had already taught ourselves to hate the tracks as embarrassingly amateurish fakes and were as such biased towards the album we wanted to hear for so long. If such a thing were to happen twice, it might just spell death for the group, so it's no wonder they'd want to keep it under wraps for as long as they could.

"Rarities" would probably be better, seeing as the only real B-Sides they have are Musique and Assault. And Aerodynamite, although that is actually more of a remix. The I:Cube and Motorbass Miami mixes of Around The World would be awesome additions, seeing as they are pretty hard to find.

BTW March is impossible. Less than one month away, we would have DEFINETLY heard something about it. Daft Punk loves their fans and If they had an album finished already secretly and ready to launch, they'd surely be doing some blogging/updating of their website.

With Alive 2007, they didn't use daftpunk.com but daft-musique.com but we all knew DP was going to release a studio album of the live performance. I don't even remember Discovery being announced but then again that's when I first knew of DP. Human After All was announced 3 months before release.
