It's really easy to find this forum on Google.
I typed 'The Daft Club' as I saw in the little book in 'Discovery' to register our product, then I found this :)
It's good to see the number of members is growing, this really worth to check it out, good & kind ambient, not to much flood, kinda cool :)

Oooh I love how you worded that...
With some other forums I'd be slightly worried about such rapid growth, but seeing how well-controlled the Club is right now reassures me that we won't suddenly be overrun with trolls.

lol I used to collect those.
Anyways, on topic. It seems to me that although we are getting more and more members, it's always the same people who are online regularly and actually post.

do users who are not active for a period of time get deleted or does anything happen?

I don't think anything happens, sometimes people come back, some people are on here very rarely, but they do pop by everynow and then.

well, i think a admin should email them or something, and be like "I notice youve been idle a while..make sure you drop by the club sometime!" and send them their password and username if theyve forgotten....or something that might encourage all our idle members to check out the newly updated site.

If they don't come anymore, it's just because they don't want/can't, we can't oblige them to come here again ;)

we don't do anything about inactive members. members who have been away for a while sometimes don't want to come back, but are always welcome if they do. we don't delete members because it would take a lot of effort, and we might accidentally delete someone's account who doesn't want to be deleted.
also, some people like to sign up but just lurk, and not post any messages.

I just typed in 'Daft Punk' in google and found this,
I thought hey this is cool *joins up lol :)
I've been on other forums where people are really stupid and make the forum feel dehumanising and trashy.
I go on here and I see people that don't talk about rubbish, and that's great.
I thank everyone. :)

Know exactly what you mean. I've given up on most forums I normally go on because for some reason people turn into jerks the second they realize they're anonymous. With this being the internet and all. So yeah. I love this forum. Come for the dafts, stay for the peeps. ;D
And I def have noticed the same thing that thehumanrobot said about there being more activity on the forum lately. It's seemed to really pick up since the layout change, I think.

I love this site. It has grown inmensely since the early days. Back in 2007, when the forum started, I thought that it would have no future as a site. I found it through the FtF, and since I found it, I've "cheated" Ftf since the first day.
I was one of the first members here (Member #139 or something like that). Strangely, I have very few posts considering I've been here for 2 years! And I come here on a daily basis.

oh lol oldbies.
i was going to make a comment about my experiences/memories/early thoughts in my last reply but totally forgot. i was member #39 on the old forum, and joined a little less than a month after the site opened, so i've been around for pretty much the entirety of the site's history.
i felt the same way as you did at first! i thought "oh, it's just a small forum, not really active..." so i didn't check it very often at first (tbh, there weren't many posts at first, so you didn't really need to.)
i remember the first time there Spud (who was then known only as the enigmatic "Admin") offered up mod positions. i thought about applying, since i figured i had a shot at getting it, but didn't bother since i thought it the site was going to die down. hahah (took me until November of that year to get around to getting it--which is when bout got his promotion as well! lol)
i hope i'm not the only one who finds that pretty funny, given the current situation! lol
I like it here. I am a member of 2 others forums, but the people there are mostly self-confident jerks. This place is full of nice peeps :)

I'm also registered on 'French Touch Forum', there is a French and an English part...seems to be cool, but didn't lurk on it yet, the mood seems to be more convivial here :)

I've always felt that there isn't really enough attention paid to the English section of the French Touch - which is kinda why I set up the Daft Club. To be honest I can kinda understand that - it's hard enough running a large site in one language without having to effectively do everything again in another, so fair play to them for it as it is!
I'm glad you're all enjoying it so much! I think it stands as a great testament to Daft Punk fans that the mood here is so inviting!
