For me, I can just tell who made what. Like, some songs blatantly sound like they're from either Thomas or Guy-Man, based on their "solo" careers.
Personally,
Revolution 909 - It's as if Thomas kicked Guy out of the studio and made his own stuff
Indo Silver Club - Same, but with Guy doing his magic here
What do you guys think? What are some other examples you can offer.
You never know, they could have made tracks alone. Not together.
But who knows. Only Daft Punk knows!

There's already a thread like this somwhere. I think Discovery was mostly guy man everywhere as he likes sampling hint: le knight club
Da Funk also felt like a mainly Thomas song, felt like On Da Rocks

could not agree more...guy-man is the true master of sampling lol
Guy is the synth/sampling guy(lol) and Thomas is the 909 machine programmer.

are you guys just making these assumptions? or are they're actual interviews or some other type of proof that back up these things (other than what they've made outside of DP individually)
dont mean to sound rude, just wondering

Kudos to anyone who links to it.

The man makes a good point. Discuss. I mean, honestly, we are just guessing that Discovery is "mostly" Guy-Man aren't we, I'm pretty sure they work well in tandem. Ironically in my experience around the time of Discovery it seemed most people thought Thomas was the "leader" of the band. :music:

well bout, think about it...guy in lkc, all about sampling. thomas bang's outside work was much more (as pslark put it) da funk like..call it a hunch, but you can kinda hear who had more influence in SOME of the songs

yeah, i can see some patterns in the music they make outside of DP when they're not together. but i have a hard time just saying, "he did this" or something. there's just not enough to warrant me saying that IMO
Its also hard to tell who does what because with Thomas being much more out there, you start to sub-consciously think he's the leader or he does the work etc.
Jeez they really do need to shed some light on how they work!

i think the "leader"role is just because of the point that he talks better english than guy-man.
imo they bring their individual styles in every song, why would they be a duo if they do everything alone (everything alone -> i mean some songs)?

something i think is interesting is that although Thomas is the much more front and center one. it seems that some of their biggest commercial hits have a more Guy-Man feel for them
One More Time- This sounds alot like Le Knight Club stuff
HBFS- this seems like him right? i mean it is his voice
and overall Discovery is alot more disco-ish. Which seems more Guy-Man's thing
but maybe i'm dead wrong, just a thought
i kind of agree but im just not sure either.

Could be very right there, Guy played Guitar and Thomas played bass in darlin'
Thomas also played piano/synth in embuscade for pheonix (laurent from darlin's band)
very true but this is the way i look at it. Homework was mainly done by Thomas and Discovery was mainly done by Guy. But how about Human After All?

I agree with most on here that say guy is like the king of sampling. & plus Discovery kind of had that lkc sound and i guess + thomas gave it its final result. Like with HAA thomas probably did most of the material + some ideas from guy. If you listen to their individual work on the side of dp youll understand lol.
P.s. Homework was probably equal thomas & guy

yeah i definitely understand the LKC connection to Discovery and where people see Thomas's influence on HW and such. But maybe its just my annoyance of giving Thomas too much credit, makes me feel like Guy-Man is gettin hated on.
but HAA i think they both just came up with the idea and went with it equally.

but guyman is hawt, he is unable to be hated on.
i also feel that guyman was more of the graphics kinda dood (as he did do the dp logo + most likely the crydamoure logo which is epic)

I heard in an old Discovery era interview (after Discovery, before Daft Club...the album) and Thomas said that Digital Love actually uses both of their voices. If you've heard Thomas' voice, it's obvious that he sang the majority of the song.
This is a little off-topic and random.. but eh. I was listening to Digital Love with my mom a while ago...
Mom: Which one sings this song?
Me: Thomas
Mom: ...
Me: The tall one
Mom: Oh. (long pause) That makes sense.
Me: Why's that?
Mom: Because, the other one is too good-looking to sing about how he DOESN'T have a girlfriend.
Me: o_o ... LOLOLOLOLOLcough
True story. No, really.
