I was seriously confused, the music sounded great, at first the dog made no sense to me and then after watching it a few times it all came together. Great music video!

I only saw it about a year ago when I finally found a copy of D.A.F.T. I didn't particularly like the video clip. I think that there is some point to it that I am missing, and it irritates me a little because it distracts from the song.
I liked Fresh's video clip more simply because of the technical aspects of the single shot the whole way through.

On the Internet, this joke is OVERPLAYED!!!!!!!!
but for srs, i got into homework after discovery, so a dog with a boombox was nothing compared to smurf aliens that played house music.

well let's think what you would think if you saw an actual dog just walking around a big city. you'd think, what is that dog doing here, he shouldnt be here.

sort of like how charlie the dog-boy just moved into the city, he doesn't feel like he belongs, he's out of place compared to everyone around him, and thus they just treat him like a dog.

that's my take at least

I thought it was neat but somewhat odd at first lol. I like all of their videos because you sometimes don't know what to expect.

The first time I saw it I said to myself "that's a huge dog" but after watching it a few time I understood that the dog didn't meant anything.

for those who dont know TB said the Da Funk video had no meaning

Here is what he said (in an interview) "There's no story. It is just a man-dog walking with a ghetto-blaster in New York. The rest is not meant to say anything. People are trying to explain it: Is it about human tolerance? Integration? Urbanism? There's really no message. There will be a sequel someday."
- Thomas Bangalter (97/98)

I first saw it when I first got into daft punk, it was the third music video of daft punk's i saw, first being Around the World and second being Burnin'.
