Here is an interview from the time when Daft Punk, described as "two slippery Frenchmen" bwhahaha, were wrapping up the Alive 2007 tour and prepping to release the CD. Thomas gives some very long, thoughtful answers to questions about the experimental nature of both the live tour and their approach to making music. Thomas boldly states that "the recording industry as we know it" is over and it is the beginning of an "artist controlled environment and the approach to have more and more shows." I guess that prediction is true. I don't pay much attention to uber mainstream music these days, but just look at deadmau5: he's been touring constantly for the past 2-3 years.

There are also some very detailed descriptions of their live setup and how live it really is given the limitations the technology puts on it. Guy-Man lets us in on what's going on up in the pyramid beyond turning knobs and pushing buttons, and why it's not a very good idea to drink lots of water before the show. But despite the experience being probably quite miserable physically, he says "we are really focused on what we have to do and we are so supported by the energy of the show we don't have time to think about it. But it's very, very hot." It sure is

Hey, i love your posts, but if i wer you i would put all the magazines together into one download and make a huge post where you also have the links to get every single magazine, its just what i would whant, I dont know what other people think

I've considered doing that, but have ultimately decided against it. I've always just posted articles as I've gotten them, which is an ongoing thing, so I would be constantly updating if they were in one big file. Although I have grouped some articles together before, I prefer posting them individually so I can comment and leave them open for discussion.

Well, I thought I could get away with just being lazy :D

I guess if it is okay with the mods, I could make a post with a list of everything I have. It will be huge if it's in a single folder though, my article folder is 180 MB. I'd probably divide them up into different eras instead (Homework, Discovery, HAA & Alive 2007, etc)

That would be great, im sure you are going to upload many more magazines, so you could make the one big folder and then just put the links to the posts so you dont have to update the big download always

Reading the technical parts of their pyramid magic makes my head spin, every single damn time. lol

I love the part where the interviewer asks whether Thomas has fallen offstage or unplugged the power supply and Guys just says "Not yet."
