hey guys im currently in the process of making a daft punk game on the iphone, it will be like a megaman game, ill post pictures and stuff later, i just started work today and it look SICK so far.

Wait, did you get permission to do this? Wouldn't there be copyright issues?
Anyway, some screenshots would be awesome, looking forward to seeing them.

ya i just found the pics of 8-bit thomas and an 8-bit logo and thats what im using for now unless anyone wants to make new ones and give me permission to use them, i i wont be releasing the game till i have either permission or new pics, ill post a screenshot of my progress later today

actually he would need permission if he wanted to make a profit off of it. he won't get in trouble if he puts it out for free

Not true. Anything can be pulled for copyright infringement, regardless of whether it's pulling in profit. All it takes is a simple cease and desist order, followed by a possible lawsuit. At that point most people give up because they can't take on a major record label.

(edit) Also, just because it hasn't happened yet with the various Daft Punk related apps out there, doesn't mean it won't eventually. Their label is pretty ruthless with YouTube videos so they could easily shift focus to apps.

well songs are fan made covers, im not using any of the original songs, the game is fan made and im not making profit off it, i will be putting it out for free...

I doubt you'd have any issues as you're not enough of a target for them. My point isn't that you will get sued, it's that you still can. Fair use is a very muddy area of the law and nobody is totally immune.
