So I went to the dentist today to get a filling. It was actually a lot better than I was expecting because I was expecting this other operation to happen they were talking about, but it didn't. When I was done I stood next to my mom and the dentist said, "Oh, it says here in your record: 'Patient likes to listen to Daft Punk'." I lol'd. One of my past dentists must have put that on before he moved to Japan. XD

its really not that lovey-dovey, nor is it that suggestive that you might be doing much. its basically just stating 'okay, he's here. we'll be gone for a while. bye.' so there's not much to comment about.

I had to write a short poem about the uplifting power of music. It was hard because I had to keep it simple but communicate a lot of ideas as well. It goes something like this:
Through my life, I’ve heard pristine sounds.
I doubt they come from the depths of Earth,
I’m certain they have fallen down from the skies:
The soothing sounds of heaven up above.
Asleep I was not, yet I felt awake,
When all was about to shatter,
I was driven to safe land.
A few sounds made everything better.
There was a moment of respite,
After years of wandering about,
I had finally find a shelter,
A sanctuary where everything was alright.

That's not good for you. Sneezing is your body telling you, "OHMIGAWDTHEREISSOMETHINGINYOURNOSEGOTTAGETITOUT!! !!!!!!". If you keep your sneeze in, is that gonna do anything? Nope. Plus the force and pressure that needs to escape your head isn't doing that.
So if you must sneeze, into your sleeve dammit!
Did you know that if you hold a sneeze, your heart stops for a fraction of a second?
So, say, 3 sneezes, makes 3 fractions of a second, meaning that you will virtually die for about 3 quarters of a second.

Don't think so either, Stacey. But I do know that you will die if you go 10 straight days without sleep. Faster than without food!
Incorrect. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_deprivation#Voluntary
I know of other cases that are >10 days.
The two most interesting/well reported cases are certainly Randy Gardner and Tony Wright, with quite a few links at the bottom of the second article.
I personally still consider the Randy Gardner record to be the most interesting one, since there was little opportunity for him to micro sleep. It's all interesting stuff though.
My personal record stands at a rather pithy 33 hours. I certainly don't encourage anyone, especially anyone with such responsibilities as a job or school to attempt to "test" themselves on purpose, but it's an interesting stat all the same. I'm sure I will break 33 hours at some point, but that won't be for a while. These days I stay awake a lot of time, but have little bits of sleep in between. Even just 2 or 3 hours can make the difference. That's why long periods with no sleep whatsoever are particularly difficult.
Oh, and another thing Pants, I may or may not look at your graphic novel, I hope that's ok... I won't show anyone else, promise!

Well children, Today I had a massive row with a friend of mine about some money, I spent about an hour filming a 30 second interview for Film Studies, found out that my friends mum is seriously ill in hospital so i cried for a bit, then I watched some TF spoofs and laughed for a bit, took apart my printer to see if I could fix it (I couldn't) nearly got blown away in the wind, missed the MOTing of a Ferrari, woke up at 5AM (I've never seen 5 am before, it was a shocker)
Basically, It was weird for me because it was a day filled with rather important things rather than argueing about who would win in a death match between batman and spiderman.

And about the religeon thingy... Why is it funny? lol I don't get it? :(
Damn school was a mix of emotions today.
First class everyone was happy slappy on their grades and stuff.
Second class everyone got revolted because the grades the teacher gave us were unfair (i cant complain, i got upped from a 7 to a final grade of 12)
And the final lass was insane, after a disagreement on the grade, all hell broke loose and one of my mates crossed the line and started being rude to the teacher, even though he had already lost complete reason to what he was disagreeing on. Oh, the three that disagreed had a 12, a 13, and a 16 (mind, out of 20)
It ended up with the teacher crying.
And i still have gym in about an hour. Bloody useless to ruin the damn week over 1 point and just 2 days before Spring break.

bleh, yeah we're doing that too. the closest we've come to blowing stuff up in my class was making these different fires that changed colors when we would put compounds into them (sparked a 10 minute debate about whether the green flame looked like the goblet of fire or floo powder from harry potter, by the way...) and one group turned on the gas too much and the flame literally shot 3 feet into the air. someone was right over it too, and luckily the teacher was right next to him and pulled him out of the way just in time. a bit of his shirt got singed.

They say triple science is for those who are good at science, but as far as I'm concerned it's double science which is the cop out for those who don't really like it. Even if you are rubbish at science it's important and everybody should take it in my opinion. If I were you I would take it. It will look good when you apply to colleges/sixth forms and you might end up finding it more interesting. But if you really can't be bothered spare yourself 3 poor grades for 2 decent ones and do double science.
Honestly, an ounce of inquiry about the world we live in should convince you that it's worth taking triple science - that's my advice to you.
My spring break starts in a week's time.
Don't say you have a "spring break" because it's not the "spring break" idea that americans have, and you will just confuse people into thinking you're american! Call it.. easter holidays or something. But I think only americans (and others who have the same idea of 'a week's break during the second semester) should use the term 'spring break', if only to avoid international confusion on the forum.
why does the last word of the threadname change everytime ?:D
Because the person who starts a thread can edit the title of the thread at any time. Melkoret was fortunate enough to be the one to start this thread. Good for him. I kinda like the way it changes all the time to be honest. :)

so last night i went to see my school's spring musical- Little Shop of Horrors. it wasnt as amazing as last years, Les Miserables, but it was still great. there are 4 seniors who got the lead roles who are amazing actors, and one of them totally nailed the part of Audrey so well it was sort of scary.
Audrey? Or Audrey II? I'm glad you say they did a good job. I'll just have to take your word for it I guess. Too many people on Youtube screw up the role of Twoey. D: No matter how good they were, they'll still never be as good as Levi Stubbs. R.I.P.

and i will take your word on THAT.

Now... from the General daft punk forum why does everybody keep saying Thomaf and Guyf? And something about CDPL.
Pants3000
30th Mar 2009, 21:19
I'm not entirely clear on how that came about, but I can give you a general answer.
CDPL (CapsDaftPunkLol) is a Livejournal for DP fans, and somewhere along the lines somebody misspelled "Thomas" as "Thomaf". They went with it.
Now on TDC, I believe Evil Stereo and DJ Alive are both called "Thomaf" and "Guyf". Which one is which, I can't recall.
For a clear answer, you're better off asking the likes of Tomatorama or Bananaeconomics (both avid members of CDPL).
