well what i see are like people that are darker than normal shadows like walking around in shadows. very VERY rarely have i seen them out of shadows. but i have seen it. in fact, my brother and my cousin saw one with me when i was alot younger. i try not to give them much attention. because if i do, they might think that they're accomplishing their goal. i think their goal is just to scare me. though, i can't say that i've seen "hat man". he's supposedly a shadow person that, instead of wearing a cloak like everyone else, where's a fedora. usually people that have given accounts of seeing shadow people have seen him. i haven't.

yeah so weirdest thing ever, two nights ago, i had one of the most emotionally intense dreams ever. like i started crying in the dream and it was like a full out sob. but then my irl ears started to hear like wind blowing by them really quickly then the wind stopped abruptly and i heard someone say "(my irl name)!". it was a kind of deepish male voice. it freaked me out and i immediately woke up thinking that there was someone else in the room saying my name to wake me up. i looked around but no one was there. i just called myself insane and went back to sleep.

also, the dream seemed to last for like the span of two nights. but when i was woken up, it had only been about an hour since i originally fell asleep.

Cause I dreamed something Twilight Zone-ish, where a guy from Sweden or somewhere among the lines called me to go and check as fast as I could in my school's old yearbooks archive (from the 70s, 80s or so) to see if I could find anyone named Peter Test, who was nicknamed "Hook". I began looking in the yearbooks and then suddenly the guy from Sweden stopped answering, like if he had been killed or something. Then I woke up. Don't know what that means as a dream or anything, but it was really freaky.

Yeah, I've also had those sort of dreams which are very emotional and intense, but with no reason at all, and then just something weird happens and you wake up. And they feel looooooooong as hell.

Today i dreamt that i was trying to avoid my mom for some reason, and then as i go to the elevator to get out of the building, i see the other one going up to floors 10 and 11, and i was wondering why, because my builing only has 8 floors.

But still, i got in, and as im coming down, i notice im going a bit too fast and all of a sudden i crash down hard on the final floor.

Dreams are awesome. Wish I could remember them and have them more often. There are a few that I remember, which were strange or creepy. Like once I had a dream I was looking at a huge white(I think) cube floating in the air with a rope hanging from it. It was really huge, it made me feel dizzy. Years after this dream, I'm thinking of making a huge cube and inflating it with helium to float and reproduce the dream.

My house is 80 years old. My DVD player opens and closes itself. Pictures fall off the walls. I've had a pen thrown at my head. I hear footsteps and talking in the hallway and closet, and it's all very clear. And last week, after setting up a camera in my room, I discovered that my closet opened and closed itself twice at 1 in the morning when everyone was asleep. I guess you could say my house is haunted, haha..

ehh, though i'll admit, NASA and some other major companies have fudged numbers about temperatures and records and stuff, i don't think it's right to say that global warming doesn't exist entirely. i think that man-made global warming is somewhat bull****ty though. and, from what i've gathered, Earth seems to show a pattern. like, a while ago, people were worried about another ice age, then it was global warming, now it's global cooling. it sounds to me like Earth goes in cycles. as in, it's been cooling and warming since it began. i think that the cycles are caused because Earth doesn't have a completely circular orbit around the sun, it has an eliptical one. meaning, we get noticeably closer to the sun every couple decades, then we move noticeably farther away every couple decades, then back again. it's like the apogee and perigee of the moon's rotation around the Earth, we have the same sort of rotation around the sun.

this is just what i believe. :)

EDIT: also, i'm not sure about other countries, but in the US, there is quite some scam to be had from the global warming scare. a bunch of companies put "ECO FRIENDLY!!!" stickers on their products and little Johnny Jackass comes along and says "This must be good for the environment! I'll buy it even though I'll never use it! :D ". once again, it's just people taking advantage of the ignorant masses.

yes, the elliptical orbit of the Earth has an effect on Earth, but that (combined with the tilt of Earth's axis) is why we have seasons. remember, Earth completes a full circuit of its orbit once every year. so it's getting closer and further away to the sun within a year, not over a course of decades.

it's actually a completely bogus theory. it has no supporting evidence whatsoever. it was something that i proposed last year during a report i did on global warming. i'd like to back the belief up as much as possible but unfortunately, it's just not possible at all yet. and i'm also pretty sure that i'm the only person willing to put effort into backing it. it was originally an effort to explain the cyclic nature of Earth's temperatures. but unfortunately i have no solid proof that it even has a cyclic nature. i can only go by what i hear. i haven't been here long enough to witness the eras before the global warming scare started, so i have no way of basing any theories off of the time before the scare. and being a thirteen year old, it was the best i could come up with at the time. now, i wanna change my belief on the subject, i just haven't come up with anything yet, or at least, anything solid. until i find a theory that supports the cyclic nature, i'm sticking with what i currently have, a completely bogus proposition.

i'd actually love to do more research on Earth's (possible) cyclic temperature changes. it's just, i'm afraid to do any kind of research because the global warming subject is such a controversial subject. any source i go to is going to have some sort of bias. there's no way to get any facts at all unless i come up with everything on my own, which is pretty much impossible considering i haven't been here long enough to know what Earth's temperatures were like before the scare. i also can't talk to any adult's that were here before the scare about it because of a possible bias.

anyway, i think that you're thinking about this in a misguided direction. the issue at hand is one that is scientific, and it seems like you're treating it as if it was a humanity and/or social science. i mean that's fairly obvious from your concerns about your data being biased. in science most of the time you're dealing with numbers--no bias--the bias comes in when the research is applied to something, and whatever company/organization wants to skew the results in their favor and use misleading figures, etc.

there is a fairly easy unbiased way to look at temperatures in eras gone by, and that's by looking at those that have been recorded. i'm sure we have records for pretty much daily temperatures since at least the turn of the previous century, probably even before that, but i'm not totally sure. it still doesn't give you a complete view, and i don't think it will help you very much, given that we're talking about theoretical change over the span of centuries, and we probably only have a century or two's worth of data, it's not going to help much.

if you're seriously interested in pursuing that sort of theory, then you're going to have to start studying math [statistics especially], physics, and the different elements of science that make up climatology. in the very least, when you're making up theories like that, you should check the elements involved to see if that doesn't already have an effect (e.g., what i explained before about the seasons).

but i think you're going to have to start with smaller, more readily testable hypotheses for your age and the data available to you.

btw, afaik, cyclical temperature change is a viable theory that scientists are investigating, but since we already know that the elliptical orbit effects our season, it's not the approach that they're going through. also, you might want to try looking up related articles in scientific journals. but be aware that it might be quite above your level atm.

if you're seriously interested in pursuing that sort of theory, then you're going to have to start studying math [statistics especially], physics, and the different elements of science that make up climatology. in the very least, when you're making up theories like that, you should check the elements involved to see if that doesn't already have an effect (e.g., what i explained before about the seasons).

but i think you're going to have to start with smaller, more readily testable hypotheses for your age and the data available to you.

btw, afaik, cyclical temperature change is a viable theory that scientists are investigating, but since we already know that the elliptical orbit effects our season, it's not the approach that they're going through. also, you might want to try looking up related articles in scientific journals. but be aware that it might be quite above your level atm.

i know it's probably too late, but i'm pretty sure the answer you're looking for is (a+b)/2. you're talking about finding the midpoint between two points on a line? in either case, since it's an average, and there's only two data points, it's clearly going to be the sum of those two points divided by the number of the points (which is, of course, 2).

that's pretty close to what you're were saying, just a little bit off in terms of parentheses on the first attempt. your "a+b=c; c/2" attempt is actually the same process as what i think is the correct answer, just more efficiently written.

it might be hard to deal with letters just as letters, but a lot of times, you can substitute any numbers in for the letters and try to see if your solution works. i'm sure you know that the point of the letters is just to represent that the equation/operation you're doing is going to be true for all numbers. (more or less. it's not literally "all numbers" but there are certain sets you're working within. but you can ignore that part until you get to more advanced math where it becomes more important.)
