I've been around the club now for nearly 2 years (Feels a bit longer though!) and while I do have a gold record, I haven't been posting much now as I did back then. Back then I would post whatever was on my mind depending what was the agenda (And looking back at my old comments, kinda makes me cringe on what I said :/). Where as now, I feel like I've matured and now have to make sure that whatever I'm about to post doesn't sound dumb. Sounds kinda sad really. :(
I wasn't really good with having a conversation with people in the first place, unless I knew well on what the subject of the conversation was. That's me for ya.

i agree. from an employee perspective, a check is just a step between you getting your money. you get it, go to the bank, fill out a deposit slip, give it to the teller and in a little while the money is in your account. most jobs offer direct deposit (side-stepping checks in favor of depositing salary directly into the employee's bank account, as you've said), but it's still not the norm, for reasons unknown to me (less bank trips for me, the better). i've never been in the employer position, but checks don't have to be handwritten haha, they can be filled out electronically to speed things up.

i totally forgot about the service charge (been a while since i've had to deposit a check in euros!), but it's the same here as you've said it is in Finland. if you try to deposit a check in a foreign currency at your bank, you've got to pay a service charge.

i don't know about international wire transfers, but if there's fees, that clears everything up! paying for wire transfer vs. writing a check for free? it's a hassle for you, but nothing for them. unless they pay a fee when you deposit it? ugh, i feel like i'm arguing with myself.

but yeah, bottom line, i love paperless banking/direct deposit/debit cards. i think most people my age would agree.

Even here in England, I think most employer pay their employees directly to their bank accounts. Saves time when you want to pop into the shop and buy something on a payday.
By the way, will be going home to visit the family so I hope that Japan would be able to solve the nuclear threat or else, I'll end up coming back with an extra eye at the back of my head and 2 extra arms to go with it. LOL

Yea but the problem was that we were too clever. While they were pranking us we said that this has to be a prank, and my brother noticed a car with black shaded windows, and he said the camera is in that car, and he was right :D. So I will try to explain the prank. Me and 3 friends were walking out of a shopping center, and a woman asked us to help here with lifting a heavy crate that was delivered wrong. So we lifted the crate with us four, and all at once the crate started to get out of balance, and it also started to weight more, i first thought that one of my friends couldn't hold the crate, but there actually was a person under the crate pushing it down. One of us mentionned that it has to be a prank since there were a few things that made it very clear. And all at once a friend told me to look down, and we saw feet coming out of the crate, so we let the crate go and it turn over. The woman that was with the program makers, started to panic because the because we had broke the inside of the crate, but she didn't knew that we already had seen the legs. And yeah, out of the van with the black shaded windows a famous flemish television presentator named Peter Van Asbroeck apperead. (sorry for my english btw) :D

Ariaf, don't fret. La Trobe was not my first choice but now i'm here I love it. Trust me, any uni you go to will be a blast. Sure Monash and Charles Sturt universities had what I wanted, but there was no way I could get in so I compromised and enrolled in a nursing course. Still in the Health Care Sector, only it's a different career.

The teachers make you scared of all this uni stuff. Really it isn't bad in the end. :) You're smart, you'll go places honey. But you don't always get you want in life. It happens.

I've looked at Musicians Institute a lot but I've been told they're more "for the money" kinda of place. What exact type of training do you have to have, and where can you get it? For future stuff, I would recommend you read into Etsy if you want to sell anything art-related. In my experience, it's a tad easier to use.
