Hi i was wondering where i can download Asault, their any music download sites for mp3 players? if anyone knows where it is i'll be happy to have it cause i heard it on youtube but i want the song. thanks

Yeah, I have it. I think I got it from someone on these forums (I think it was hani)

It's a track that was included with The New Wave EP, Daft Punk's first single.

It's a good track; it's obviously not the best, but it's nice to see DP's beginnings.

Does anybody have the " New Wave/Alive" single??
The third track on the 12'' is a song called "Assault" and I was wondering if anyone has it bc I cannot find it anywhere.

It's on their first single on Soma Recordings, released in 94. So I reckon it's hella hard to find and I doubt anyone has it as an mp3.

it shouldn't be too hard to find elsewhere, but we have a policy of not sharing DP music that you can buy.

since this is such an early single, i'm not sure if that counts as okay to share or not... anyway, hit up Google or something, shouldn't be too hard to find on your own.

a little contradicting, since you cannot buy that single anywhere. not officially at least.

I guess they stoped producing it when Daft Punk left Soma records.

Because yes, it is not available for purchase anywhere, I have looked EVERYWHERE. lol

And the same with finding a .mp3 version of it on the net for free, I cannot find it anywhere. Thats why I want it so bad! lol ;)

It was also released on UMM in 1994 which is the copy that I got off Ebay about 6 months back. Paid $40 for it, but worth it to add to my collection.

Keep looking, it pops up every now and again. Found the Soma pressing of Indo Silver Club Parts 1 &2 there as well.

Assault doesn't sound Daftish though really. It's a very early, rather poor track. But it is by them.
'Vietnam' is simply NOT Daft Punk.

I think is assault is a fairly good song-take into account this is a band that doesnt really 'do' b-sides.Musique,Aerodynamite (which really is just a remix) and Assault are the only ones i know of.Musique is sublime,Aerodynamite is quality too,but Assault is always being shoved aside.If you will: Their first ever singles b-side (alot of bands havent really grown into themselves by that stage) and given the fact that the other b-sides since have been so popular (at times treated more like lost A-sies) ,assault will always pale into insignificance.Its a good song for a club but i understand why you wouldnt want to listen to it too often

I have the EP sitting in the corner right now... I can't even play the damn thing though as I don;t have a record player!!

As for the links issue - it IS available on official release. People have it and that therefore means that we won't allow a link to an mp3 (or other type of file) of the song - it's illegal!

I can't find it anywhere. I know it WAS, but I can't find anywhere to get it now, I have tried. If I could have found it, I would have bought it.

It doesn't seem 100% real.. like 10$?

Plus their is no insurance available on the item, and the seller has only 69% reputation... so he may not even have it..

If it was me, I wouldn't do it.

they probably deleted it because it's copyrighted material that you don't have the rights to distribute.

even if they didn't delete it, we don't allow links to copyrighted material (like songs) on the forums. it's different if it's a fan~made remix or unreleased bootleg (those are okay), but if it's something you can go and buy on CD/vinyl, it's not allowed.
