View Full Version : WHO LIKES PHOTOGRAPHY!?

Well, I dabble in physically creating photographs in chemical baths, as well as digitally editing them. But physically changing them is much more satisfying.
Here are some of mine. They are a bit big... sorry

i can't say whether they're technically good, since i lack the training, but i like them regardless...
that's one of the things i regret about going away to school during high school. no art classes = no learning photography. but hopefully i'll learn it sometime within the next three~to~two years.
i agree with you though that physical is much more satisfying than digital.

Wow, I love your stuff. You too, Medokin!
I got started about a year ago, so my stuff is very amateur. I work with film and digital. This is my Flickr, feel free to check it out, but it doesn't have much of my digital pictures.
And I just have to add this one. ;)

it's definitely not Photoshop. it's a matter of adjusting the focus on your subject while you're taking the picture. i'm no where near experienced enough to tell you how to go about doing that, but yeah...

It was supposed to be in focus, too, but I made a boo-boo. D: I'll re-shoot it in the future, maybe...
Pauly: No Photoshop what so ever! It's all in the depth of field.

Well - the camera focus length is in the middle of the barrel. Which means it's in the middle, which means it will focus on the middle disc package...
still very cool though
Depth of field precisely. It'd be too niggly to pHotoshop that

i have nothing against photographers. but i just don't see what makes it so interesting?
granted, it takes skill to photograph wildlife and stuff because eventually the animal in question is going to move away, but does it really take much skill to take a black and white photo of a speed limit sign and its shadow?
no offense, just wondering if someone could explain that to me.
those photos are quite nice though ;)

IMO it's just another form of art. A way to express yourself. Personally I like the challenge of trying to photograph something commonplace and try to make it interesting. Honestly, it takes a lot of work to make a 'photograph' as opposed to a 'snapshot'... or maybe that's just me. :[
Oh BTW: OH HAI GAIZ! (http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee233/whatwahtwhat/negativez5a.png) Eugh, I need a haircut, and my scanner ****ed it up, and I really hate this self-portrait assignment! *complainnn!* D: D: D:

It's like explaining emotion to someone who doesn't feel it. I doubt anybody will be able to explain it to you. You either get it or you don't. It's about expression and balance.

okay so, like a few of the rest of you, i thought that one picture zapcat did was pretty cool. so i took some similar pictures a while, just never got around to uploading them. until now.
i took a couple tries of each set up, but as i've never really studied photography or anything, i dunno if they're any good or not. so instead of spamming up this thread with crappy pictures, i just picked the ones i thought were best.
CDs (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/thebox24/art/IMG_0604.jpg)
old records (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/thebox24/art/IMG_0948.jpg)
old records again (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/thebox24/art/IMG_0949.jpg)
in addition to that, i love taking pictures of my iPod (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/thebox24/art/IMG_0927.jpg), and i thought this little guy (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v135/thebox24/art/IMG_0972.jpg) living inside an old computer i dissected was pretty cool.
