Personally i didn't like it :(
I payed £25 for the cd and imported it from Japan and when i got it i couldn't play it in windows media player and i could copy the songs to my MP3 :(
The songs arn't too great either.

eviljoker7075
17th Jan 2007, 21:50
Do you mean you 'couldn't' copy the songs?

RyuZell
18th Jan 2007, 01:24
yeah couldn't
It plays in its own Media Player maybe cause the japanese are pritty strict on Copyright.
The media player is Japanese too :S
Ive been told if im carefull i can draw around the center of the CD with a permenant Pen and it will delete the copy right and would play like normal...but im not taking that risk.

eviljoker7075
18th Jan 2007, 10:18
Nah! If you're in the UK and you still own the cd you can morally download the tracks online, so that might be the key!

I wanna get he special one with the Kubrix models!

RyuZell
18th Jan 2007, 12:21
yeah lol they look cool.
Have you seen them action figures of Daft Punk they cost a Bomb !

eviljoker7075
18th Jan 2007, 20:52
I know!! I'm after the whole lot, including those Kubrix ones... the Interstella 5555 models of the characters, the Interstella Kubrix 'mouse' models of Thomas and Guy, and the 'action figure' robots too!!

DaftSnow
19th Jan 2007, 02:47
Yeah, I didn't like the album that much. My favorite is the Prime Time of Your Life (Para One REmix)

eviljoker7075

JaceInman
20th Jan 2007, 03:39
I always download and/or listen to a cd before I buy it. It is indeed a rare occasion I will buy a cd, it has to be flawless if I am gonna buy it.

eviljoker7075
20th Jan 2007, 10:52
Yeah but what if you don't buy the CD? Do you delete the songs?

Chuke
20th Jan 2007, 13:00
yupp download before buying :)

RyuZell
20th Jan 2007, 19:35
ill only buy Albumss now if im a Fan of the Artist and kind of a collectable thing.
I normaly only like 1 or 2 songs from most groups out there now so why waste £10 on 2 songs when you can get for free.

Risky subject to talk about to be honest :S

DaftSnow
20th Jan 2007, 21:39
If You buy the Human After All Remixes album, it comes with the Kukbrick figures though.

JaceInman
20th Jan 2007, 22:41
Where can you find the album with the figures besides ebay?

eviljoker7075
20th Jan 2007, 22:58
Not true, you can buy the album minus the figures... the figures were limited to 3000 units...

DaftSnow
20th Jan 2007, 23:11
I got the figurines without the Album. Just off Ebay.

Chuke
26th Jan 2007, 21:53

i've just recently really began getting into the new French Electronic scene, ed banger crew and such, and it's nice to see that Daft Punk began making them famous by letting them remix human after all songs. I really like SebastiAn, Digitalism, and Justice now, for their personal EPs. So i've gone back to the Human After All remixes, and that stuff is great too, the SebastiAn remix of Human After All is amazing.

Synthesis
19th Mar 2007, 08:55
I found the album as a whole to be very enjoyable. The ones that stood out the most to be was Vitalic's remix of Technologic, Para One's remix of The Prime Time of Your Life, and SebastiAn's remix of Human After All.

It makes me look forward to seeing SebastiAn live.

Damn, I'd liked those Kubrick figures. How much did you pay for your Kubrick figuers Daft Snow?

Several weeks ago, I saw a bid on ebay for a new Human After All Remixes CD with the Kubrick figures. It went up to 155 euros I think.

DaftSnow
11th Apr 2007, 07:00
I got them for Christmas from my sister, and preferred not to ask, lol.

The version wthout the Kubricks is only £18.98 (free P+P) => http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000E6G6EE/203-9131749-1359106?ie=UTF8&tag=wwwmyspacec0c-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=1634&creativeASIN=B000E6G6EE

i will direct you to my post in another thread regarding this.

as i'm sure you remember, we decided that sharing links to download DP's (and other artists') officially released material was against the rules, so if you want to download, you're on your own seeking out that.

I have bought everything that there is possible to buy in Canada, that is Daft Punk related.

Not including ordering online, because I don't have that option.

If they truley didn't want people stealing this album through torrents and what not, they would distribute the album everywhere. And not JUST Japan.

Plus.. with this copy protected CD, nobody can use it for any other use other then listening, restricting it to use of a CD player.

That is why EMI anounced, Officially, that from now on, every CD they distribute, in Canada at least, they have removed the copy protection.

piroteki
13th Dec 2007, 09:16
i don't think they would care that much to be honest. they seem to be interested in exploring new ways of getting music out there, and obviously, torrenting/downloading isn't exactly "new," but it's another way to disperse the work...

anyway it seems to me that they're not in it for the money, so i think it's mostly the people over at EMI that would be cursing you, instead of les Daft themselves.

despite that, it's still nice to support them as artists, even if the profit they actually receive is minuscule.

and Copy Protection/DRM of any kind sucks majorly. i dunno if it's a Mac vs. PC or iTunes vs. <insert other media player of choice> issue, but i had absolutely no problems ripping my copy to my computer, though i remember someone else (a PC user) having issues with this particular album a while back.

Ripping an Audio CD depends on what program you use, it's better to use a standalone software programmed specifically for ripping to get the best quality possible (AudioCatalyst is a good example), using WMP, Quicktime or Realplayer for ripping is not a good idea IMO.

And the Remix album aint worth it if you ask me, only 2-3 remixes stand out, the rest is crap.

DJPixcell
13th Dec 2007, 20:31
I agree, I need it for my collection.. and I still like the remixes.

Just, really its not all that great. Especially for something that is arround 52$ plus tax, and shipping, and you still can't rip the songs onto your computer.

I ripped the songs off my Alive Disc to put on my iPod, I ripped it on iTunes at 320kbs and like 48 khz or sumin like that..??

This ripping of stuff is new to me really, I never payed attention to the fact that you could actually make a higher quality sound from ripping it better,

Can anyone help me out? Anything you recomend? If so, can you tell me how? I might as well be brain dead when it comes to knowing all of this kbs and khz or w/e it is.

Whenever you rip anything to mp3 format, it is recommended you rip @ 192 kbps (CD quality) or higher and @ 44100Hz, ripping at the highest possible kbps (320) is the way to go if you want the best quality possible on mp3, always rip @ 44100Hz.

18th Dec 2007, 18:07
This may or may not be helpful after all this time, but I reccomend Exact Audio Copy for ripping, it's a program designed to do perfect rips from cds, even if they are somewhat damaged. I've ripped all my cds with that and saved them in lossless.
I've also saved them all in mp3, being lazy and ripped them WMP.

I brought Alive 1997 as part of a double pack with Alive 2007 from amazon.com. I already owned Alive 2007 but the one that came in the double pack had a shiny print on the CD that the version I brought from JB-Hi-Fi didn't. I love 1997 and the double pack was only $20. Most of the remixes on that album are OK (the Peaches remix less so, but it's not horrendous), but the Alter Ego remix of HAA is just... ghastly. One instance of "after all" in a 10-minute guitar loop apparently qualified it as a remix.

Discogs is on of the safer places to shop on the internet. I have made a handful of orders and all have arrived so far. You can choose from which member you want to buy the CD/vinyl from and compare their ratings.

Discogs is eBay for vinyl. Just look at the feedback of the seller.

Yeah I'm so happy I got one for $25 about a year ago, it's such a cool album. Only 3000 were made so that should explain the price

I've never really looked into hearing this amazingly..The one you're talking about with only 3000 copies made is the same one on iTunes right? It's weird..Daft Club (CD) is so easy to find but this is relatively small.

HAA:remixes isn't on iTunes, at least not were I am.

I think my favourite is digitalisms 'high way to paris' remix. I can't find it on youtube though. Justice remix of HAA is pretty sweet too. And Para one's remix :P those are my fav 3

I have Para one from PTOYL EP..It is so good. Especially when it's going DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE and then the synths come in..It puts me so on edge. Feels just like the video.
