As a Daft Punk fan is it ok to like Mylo...? I bought the album 'Destroy Rock & Roll' today and ever since I have encured nothing but a barrage of disaproving looks and abuse from my friends!!!

His music is weird to say the least, very minimal-ish sounding and repetitive, In My Arms especially gets on my nerves, and I wonder what's being said on Drop The Pressure, I dunno, I hear it as "Motherf**** gonna drop me the pressure" LOL! XD

Anyone else who has an opinion on Drop The Pressure's lyrics?

mylo is a world class bedroom dj. something to aspire to be in many peoples cases i think.

So it's not really as bad as I'm being lead to believe....?

He's actually won "DJ of The Year" awards, which surprises me really, I find his tracks annoying and monotonous.

Haven't heard about the guy. I only know the existence of that guy/duo/band/whatever's because of SebastiAn's killer remix of Paris 400 :)

"in my arms, baby yea... in my arms, baby yea..."

Mylo's not so bad... I have some mixes from him off soulseek and they're not too shabby. He played at Coachella the year that DP played there and I got to see a little of his set, but opted to check out The Go! Team and Scissor Sisters...

BUT, anyone who mixes in Exceeder by Mason can't be that bad of a DJ...

just one scottish lad godiecool. paris 400 the original sounds absolutely nothing like sebastiAns remix but its still a cool song.

I enjoy his material, I don't hold it on anywhere near the same level as Daft Punk, but its certainly enjoyable stuff and relaxingly different from the Ed Banger scene as he is Scottish...

great music from Mylo. He's also done Kylie's new album.

He has made a few good tunes.
In My Arms (I like it but it kinda annoys me as I actually made a song looooooong before it with the same sample from Bette Davis Eyes)
Paris 400
Musclecar
Otto's Journey
Doctor/Drop The Pressure

He also did a very interesting version of Guns N Roses "Sweet Child Of Mine" which has a great intro.

I hope he does eventually release a new album cos his first one was wicked.
Much like Daft Punk in his sample use, although he goes for the more recognisable... but he turns in some great tunes. Like the other comment said, world class bedroom DJ. If any of you guys get as good as Mylo you're made, so I wouldn't complain!

haha!!! Well that about settles it! I'm no longer ashamed to have bought the CD! There are some fantastic songs on there!!

Is it just me though but... doesn't the track 'Destroy Rock N Roll' seem a little reminiscent of a certain track from the debut album of a familiar pair of masked robiots...?

yeah although theyre coming at it from two completely different angles. mylos song is about destroying all the bands mentioned, dps is namechecking all the artists that influenced them. plus mylos track is sampled from some nut jobs video declaring rock evil.

It is nothing but a pure shame that this thread isn't more popular. Mylo is amazing. He's right up there with Daft Punk on my list. (Not ahead of, but up there)

Salt Lick is so hypnotic. Every song on Destroy Rock & Roll is a gem, and his new 2009 track is amazing. Can't wait for his new album.

This guy proves that you don't have to use insane kick drums and fast bpm's to make quality electronica.
