Ever heard of the One Million Masterpiece project? http://www.millionmasterpiece.com/

Basically, it's a great big mural of art from people all over the world.

I was thinking, since quite a few peeps here are great artists [though I was thinking that great skill wouldn't be necessary for this. i.e. everyone could participate] we could do sort of a big Daft art project?

Traditional art, digital art - it wouldn't matter. As long as everyone here on Daft pitched in with a small piece.

It's just an idea and I think it'd be a really fun collaboration.

EDIT:
If enough people think this is a good idea, I'll need some peeps to help me organize it and stuff like that. If you want to offer your help, just tell me. This wouldn't be done now, though, since I'm in the middle of exam season, but It'd be good to start organizing stuff already.

I not can get parents to buy me a wacom tablet, no matter how much I beg, so I'll probably go with traditional media. But anyways, this is just an idea. I'll need more peeps aboard before this becomes...a project.

don't sweat it. i have one, and i shamefully hardly ever use it... u_u;; i've never gotten the hang of it. it's just really different [for me] between drawing with a mouse and drawing with a pen/cil. try drawing with a mouse if you want to do digital, it's not as scary/hard/etc as you might think... or draw/ink it traditionally then color digitally. that's generally what i do.

I'm down. It'll bring my tablet out of retirement... but if everyone is going traditional, I have the means for that, too.

So as I get it; You don't have to be skilled to join this? Like you can suck (hard) at drawing and still be counted in? ^_^

Since I would love to join, but my drawing skills are 0.

I love that people are willing to do this. I wasn't sure whether the idea would fly. XD

Basically, at the moment, what I need help with is...brainstorming, actually. As to how this would be done. My thoughts thus far have been that we could make it into a large collage, like the One Million Masterpiece project. If we do decide to do it that way, there'd be a few issues, such as whether to create a website devoted to it, or whether to host it on an existing site, such as deviantART [Which wouldn't be ideal]. So, basically, I'd like your input and ideas as to how this would be done and, if we do decide to create a website for it, I'd need someone who's a whizz at websitery. :P

Also: This wouldn't be done now, since it's exam season and such. So it'd probably be done this summer or so. So I've plenty of time to collect your ideas.
