NTSC VERSION: TORRENT (http://www.mininova.org/tor/1512901) + COVERS (http://daftendirekted.googlepages.com/DaftPunk-Alive2007CoversNTSC.zip)
Enjoy... :)
[EDIT]
If you don't have Nero and you can't open NRG image files (which is the filetype of this DVD), you can convert it with MagicISO (http://daftendirekted.googlepages.com/MagicISO.zip) for Windows or with NRG to ISO tool (http://www.x2studios.com/index.php?page=products&id=21) for Mac.
Also, if you want to do it another way, just open NRG file with DAEMON Tools and watch it on your computer, or copy disc with your burning software. It shouldn't be hard to do, I guess.

People, after you download this, give a google search to a program call DAEMON Tools, it will allow you to open the file and see the DVD. After you download and install it, open it and it will only appear on your taskbar.

Then, right click on the icon on the task bar and go to Virtual CD/DVD-ROM, then Device 0: [x] No media and Mount image. Select the .nrg file of the DVD and wait.
That should do the trick.

Which ones better for a DVD?

PAL is for
Australia
Belgium
Denmark
Finland
France (using PAL-SECAM TV)
Germany
Greece
Iceland
India
Ireland
Israel
Italy
New Zealand
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Russia
South Africa
Spain
Sweden
United Kingdom
Turkey

While NTSC is for:
North America
Central America and the Caribbean
South America
Asia

Wikipedia is your friend!

to put the file on a dvd you will need nero, but if not there will probably be a program that changes .nrg to .iso and from then you could use imgburn and burn it to a DVD as soon as i download the video and require programs like these I will tell you guys about them

hani

OK, I'm gonna make some things straight.
Sorry for making only one tracker. I never made a torrent before and I got little confused about what should I do.
Secondly, as bonjamins said, PAL is generally for Europe and NTSC for Americas and Asia.
NRG image is easily read by DAEMON Tools and can be recorded to the disc on Nero. Sorry, Nero makes only NRG images.
I don't think I'm gonna upload MP4 version of that on torrents soon, because I don't have time to take care of it.
Hope you'll understand. I did my best.

Ok. Just to let you know, it was hard to read the small text on the bottom witht the daft font. I edited and used a different font. I still hept your pictures that you had and added 2 more. I used the back covers from movie DVDs to help me make it look more professional like someone on here said about yours. I can change anything that you want me to change.

Alright, downloading as we speak (or type.)

Just remember, the more SEEDERS there are, the FASTER you will get this. SO... anyone who has finished downloading the file, please be patient and let it just sit there and seed in your torrent client for a few hours after so others can get the file too.

I know it will be difficult, but we have to work as a team in order for everyone to get this!

Thanks everyone!

electromatic
17th Jun 2008, 21:20
How long does it take to seed a torrent and what does seeding mean? I know nothing about torrents. Seriously.

electromatic
17th Jun 2008, 21:25
Nevermind. I found my problem. Carry on.

titanisiam
17th Jun 2008, 21:33
Alright, for those of you that dont know...

Seeding is how torrents work. Its essentially you, uploading the file for people to download from. If there are a bunch of seeders, then your bittorrent client can recieve the file from anyone, however, if there are few to no seeders, your client is stuck with just the single uploader, and then it goes extremely... extremely slow... ugh..

So essentially You download the file FROM a person who is seeding.

By seeding, you provide other people with the chance to download the file. So Seed away! (Just let the file continue running in your bittorrent after its fully downloaded.)

evilstereo
17th Jun 2008, 21:33
According to my torrent client, I should have this downloaded by next week. XD

I'll be patient, I know that'll go down,

EDIT: Or will it? I'm willing to, but I simply can't let this download for 5 days.

mugs
17th Jun 2008, 21:49

MaLee-X-treme
17th Jun 2008, 22:09
Yeah! Really great work, hani! Thanks a lot!
electromatic, your cover is fantastic. But the text in the left corner is a bit difficult to read because it is over Thomas. Maybe you can make that it is above them (hope you know what I mean).
btw: I'm downloading it right now, too, but only with 10 kB/s. What can I do to download it faster??

Nerd42
17th Jun 2008, 22:58
As soon as one of us gets done downloading the torrent, we will seed, and everyone else's download speeds will be better - as long as we seed so PLEASE SEED

evilstereo
17th Jun 2008, 23:27
I had to give up on it, it had slowed to under 1 kb/s! That's rediculous.

I'll try it again in an hour or so.

However, I did make a disc for it with my disc printer... it it AWESOME. All it is is the world "Alive" in the daft font in black on the top, with "Daft Punk's Unforgettable Live Show" on the bottom. I can't wait to... ya know... put something on it. XD

titanisiam
17th Jun 2008, 23:30
There is nothing you can really do to make it download faster. Maybe close other internet windows or programs that use your internet.

Im running at 2 kbps on a Cable internet, but thats to be expected with so few seeds. I'll keep pushing through and then I'll seed it for a day or so once its done!

evilstereo
17th Jun 2008, 23:34
I'll start it later and let it download over night. If it's not done by thursday, I'm rather screwed, because we're changing our internet service provider, which means we'll have to shut it off briefly. Is there anyway to continue a torrent later?

EDIT: Whoa! this is over 3GB! No wonder... that means the disc I printed is basically trash now. Ugh...

18th Jun 2008, 00:55

What client are you using?

EDIT: A glint of hope, my download just jumped from 1-2kb/s to 16-18 kb/s. *knocks on wood*

titanisiam
18th Jun 2008, 01:53
Digital... you're computer is probably trying to open up the .torrent file itself as a movie. The .torrent file is what you download from the torrent site (i.e. Mininova) that essentially gives you 'access' to the downloadable file (.torrents are usually only ~25kb)

If this is the case, make sure you are opening it up with a bittorrent client. If you dont have a client, I would reccomend either BitComet, or uTorrent (Google them!)

Hopefully that clears up any issues! Good Luck!

Nerd42

Hello torrent noobs. Welcome to 2001; a p2p Odyssey. Everyone should learn how to use BitTorrent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_%28protocol%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_client

On PC: open torrent files with uTorrent to start downloading. http://utorrent.com/

On Mac: I open torrent files with Transmission http://www.transmissionbt.com/ but there may be a better client out there.

If you're running Linux you're probably smart enough to find your own BitTorrent client and probably smarter than me.

Don't use Limewire or Azearus! They are for NOOBS.

You can't use the file until it finishes downloading (duh) Please seed as much as you can. the more you leave it running after you finish, the quicker everybody else will get it and the better the chances you'll be able to get it again if you ever lose the file / DVD.

If the people making this weren't noobs, they'd probably have used the open ISO disc image format instead of the noobish proprietary NRG format so if you have trouble with burning the disc image with Nero, tough. Sucks to be you.

You should in theory be able to convert the FLV to other formats with FFMPeg http://worldtv.com/blog/guides_tutorials/flv_converter.php I have not tested this since I haven't got the file finished downloading yet so please don't complain to me if it doesn't work. It does work for most YouTube videos in FLV format, I know that from experience.

and once again, welcome to the 21st century

We need some seeders, the share ratio is absolutely horrible right now... so therefore, we're all stuck.

MaLee-X-treme
18th Jun 2008, 05:54
I think the only one with 100% of the file is hani. And maybe he is offline now, so we have to wait that he is online again. Then we all can continue to download. I'm right?
But you can still be online with your client if you already downloaded something, so you can share what you already have on your computer with the other people. The decent download begins if some more people have the file complete. But it will take some time i think. :)

Nerd42
18th Jun 2008, 12:06
Oh, and answering other people's questions: Yes, BitTorrent downloads can resume, or else your client is crap and you need to get a better one. Seeds can resume also. But to resume you have to have the exact same files with no changes.

Is the DVD in the torrrent based on the FLV file or is it the original and the FLV is the copy?

don't despair, noobs. the problem is with the seeder. Reguardless, I'm at 92% of the FLV file over http (the torrent may be finished in two days LOL direct downloads are nice if they don't overload the server) but reguardless, leave it running for a week and you'll definitely get something. It takes time to download an entire DVD.

Hey I've got two questions: 1. is this flv in hi-def? 2. does this flv include the encore? anybody who has it, please answer thanks. :)

(later edit: Third question. what software did you use to convert this FLV to a video format you can burn to DVD? Or can Nero burn FLV directly to DVD and play in regular/old DVD players?)

hani
18th Jun 2008, 15:37
1. Yes, this FLV is full hi-def, 2084 kb/s
2. Yes, it has the whole thing
3. I used Magic Video Converter. Worked perfectly

If anyone has some problem with NRG files (e.g. doesn't have Nero) you can convert it to regular ISO file with nrg2iso software, available for free download here (http://www.roland-illig.de/lang.delphi.nrg2iso.html).

I think you should be able to just change the .nrg to .iso! Because a .nrg is basically a .iso but done with Nero!!! I think.

The .FLV file here, www.the-technologist.com/audio ?

okay so, i'm not downloading, and probably won't be for a while. (i don't have enough free space. isn't that sad? D: but hopefully by the time i do free up enough space, there will be lots of seeders! XD)

anyway, this disc image file format, i don't know what i'd do with it once i did download, since i don't have Nero, and i can't download that program that hani listed. (i think it's .exe which i can't do anything with on my Mac...) so... if anyone wants to make an .iso torrent whenever they've finished downloading, that would be super awesome.

i can definitely handle a .iso file, just not this weird .nrg or whatever it is.

bonjamins
30th Jun 2008, 20:05
okay, right to help people who don't know how to burn a DVD heres how I did it:
1) make sure you have a: dvd burner (most desktops have one) and blank (compatible with the dvd burner) dvd. DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW (now most dvd burners accept all).

2) download IMGBURN ( for pc's, sorry mac's I cant find a free image burner, but if you have or you can pay for it get toast, its great!)

3) once downloaded it looks a bit daunting, but once you get used to it its good, click the big icon which says " write image file to disk"

4) under source click the file with the magnifying glass on it and select the downloaded file of alive 2007 (is the one with the .NRG extension)

5) in destination select your dvd burner, if you have one this is easy and select the only one you have!, Put in the blank DVD before you continue!!!!!

6) after you put in the blank dvd under destination it has the icon of ' a page with a disk in it pointing to a normal disk' press that. press it real good, yeah thats it!

7) the disk should now be starting, there is a complete bar, a device buffer bar and a image buffer bar, wait for the complete line to complete

8) when it is completed the disk tray should open DONT TOUCH THE DISK, it will go back in the player in a second (unless you didn't select verify on the destination bit)

9) the disk should now verify, if it says there is a problem press okay (it will work like 98% of the time even if it says there is a problem) close down imgburn eject the disk

10) play disk to check it works, RESULT you just burned a dvd for free without nero! now go watch some Alive 2007 ooey gooey goodness.

Nerd42
30th Jun 2008, 20:43

convert the file to iso with the application in the link below and use the same application to write it onto a dvd.worked perfectly for me (with thanks to hani again).

I found a software which changes NRG to ISO. It's MagicISO and here's a link to it's full version, hosted by me: http://daftendirekted.googlepages.com/MagicISO.zip

I suggest you to read installation notes firstly.

and nerd42, stop being such a dick and grow up.

@ evilstereo This worked for me

People, after you download this, give a google search to a program call DAEMON Tools, it will allow you to open the file and see the DVD. After you download and install it, open it and it will only appear on your taskbar.

Then, right click on the icon on the task bar and go to Virtual CD/DVD-ROM, then Device 0: [x] No media and Mount image. Select the .nrg file of the DVD and wait.
That should do the trick.

My life feels more complete now that I have that DVD in my possession. !happy !guy-man

@ DJPixcell This is what I did and it worked perfectly.

okay, right to help people who don't know how to burn a DVD heres how I did it:

Hey guys. The DVD is awesome. Iv found that using toast 9 titanium I can burn the nrg image. BUT.... The picture fills the screen and the writing saying you can't sell it blah blah is slightly cut off on the sides!!! It's really annoying not having the black at the top and bottom. Could anyone help with this? Thanks a lot.

has anyone been to theworldisdaft lately?

A Robot may not create sounds injuring humans or, through inaction, allow a human being to listen bad music.

A Robot must create electronic music for human beings, except where such music would conflict with the First Law.

A Robot must protect its own music as long as such a protection does not conflict with First or Second Law.

So it finally finished downloading and it burned it straight on to a DVD to watch it on the TV. Thing is there are a few freezes in audio and video. I dont know if its just me but there is a freeze near the end of TVRTN/ Crescendolls, another during Aura Rock and quite a few during the Encore.
Is it just me, because i once tried to burn and watch a Top Gear episode on a DVD but there was huge freezes near the end or is it a common thing between all?
