5th Sep 2010, 14:37 #1401i just had a similar experience actually... yesterday i was hanging out with my ex-boyfriend, who is now actually my best friend, and we were talking about stuff, mostly about how he wants to ask this girl out where he works. and i totally support it, and i think its great, etc, but then he got into a whole conversation about how he's never going to get over me and how he's still going to love me deep down for the rest of his life, blah blah, and then tried to get really close to me and almost kissed me. i ended up leaving and WALKING home, and we had a little argument through text messages as i was on my way home.
he ended up calling me later that night totally drunk. and this was the guy who promised me he'd never do anything like that- who actually hated his parents because they drank all the time and purposely threw bottles of gray goose down the sink...
i wanna slap HIM on the head too, but we can't control what people do in their lives i guess. we can only talk to them to try and prevent them from doing it again.

5th Sep 2010, 15:52 #1402@Daniel: That's awful. I'm sorry to hear about that.
I am not looking forward to my Debs, for obvious reasons.
I may end up going alone.
I'm sick of everyone asking me who I'm going to ask to go with me.
Basically, the sociality of this year is going to be the death of me.

5th Sep 2010, 18:14 #1403You know Daniel.. it's up to you, do what you think is best, but you should probably tell your parents. It's what I would do, but I'm an only child, so I can't really judge the relationships.
I hope things get better for you and your sister though.
And Aria.. :/ Sounds like he's just being stupid. Everybody gets over everything, eventually. Walking away was the right thing to do.
My two cents, one for each crappy situation I suppose.
5th Sep 2010, 19:03 #1404still, there's no reason why you can't sell them directly to another student? i know the bookstore wouldn't take them back, but you can do something on facebook or some other message board, advertising that you have these packets and if anyone needs them, to contact you. since you didn't use them, you could probably reasonably ask for full price, but even if you sold them at a discount, you'd at least be getting most of what you spent back.
i know it's supposed to be a date-y thing, but why can't you just ask a female friend who you're close to? i never really had a date to any of the prom-like dances/events when i was in high school. (once i went with my brother's friend, and my friend went with my brother, but that was pretty stupid i basically ignored them the whole night since i was really awkward back then... :s ) for senior prom, though, there's a sort of walk, where if you had a date, you'd be escorted by them. i didn't, so i asked one of my guy friends. i found out at the beginning of this year that he's actually gay, but you know, it was fine! lol
as for Daniel and aria: people do stupid things. i've dealt with hearing things about my brother being retarded and drinking too much, which greatly upset me at the time. sometimes people are just stupid at the time, and learn their lesson. the important thing is to talk to them about it. (i would say that in the case of Daniel, telling parents isn't totally necessary, but if you feel like you should, then do so.) and that to tell them you're concerned about the behavior and you care about their well being and don't want it to become a habit. it seems like Dan's already done that, so great. :] communicating is really key.
6th Sep 2010, 19:51 #1406**** my life. **** boys. **** my debs. Screw the whole thing. It's ****ing unbelievable.
7th Sep 2010, 10:28 #1409i. cant. ****ing. SLEEP. im sixk, ans i have to go to school today.
please dont **** with me today school people, earl is not in the mood.
7th Sep 2010, 18:52 #1410I asked someone to go with me to the debs as friends, and have nothing going on between us, and he said no, because he wants to ask a girl. Bear in mind, however, he went around rating girls and I spread it around like wildfire, so his chances at getting a partner from school are shot.
In the end, I'm going to go with a female friend as the Gay Best Friend. Don't know who, yet.
Oh, and I was trying to keep my asking of the guy quiet, but now everyone knows. FML.
