2nd Oct 2010, 04:53 #1461lol. don't even talk to me about money. i live in a cockroach infested apartment and cant afford food. but im going through a not eating stage, which is good for saving money and losing weight, but i'm getting worried. like i physically can't eat. i've lost like 15 pounds already. i dunno whats up with that. all i can stomach is ensure and processed cheese.
2nd Oct 2010, 21:04 #1463So my Internet connection just stopped in the middle of my online history exam... fml. Hopefully my proff. will be nice and let me retry.

The Nip Clips - Just the Two of Us

3rd Oct 2010, 06:19 #1465aw... Jenny. :[ <3 you have my complete sympathy.
if it's like my experience i know you may or may not want to talk about it depending, but if you want, i'll try to give you advice about what helped for me. (though obviously, my problem simply couldn't be fixed, and i'm still dealing with that asshole... >/ )
i totally sympathize with the eating thing, too, but i would encourage you to see someone about that. as much as eating in a roach appartement sucks ;~; you need to do so for your health. (in my situation we basically ended up eating out a lot of the time, which is still not a great solution due to cost...)
i've also been not eating as much as i used to in terms of meals, but i also haven't really lost any weight and it's not like i'm actually going hungry, so i guess i'm eating enough?
anyway, i know money is tight, but i really encourage you to get recommendations for a reliable pest control company to treat it. that basically would've solved my issue, had it not been for my insane asshole of a landlord. (seriously, he threatened that i was "contaminating his building" and that the guy we hired was "trespassing" and would be arrested for it.) any infestation will take a couple weeks to clear up (it seemed like mine would've been fixed in about 3-4 had i been allowed to continue treatment) so it'll continue to suck but at least will get better.
besides that i assume you've already mentioned the issue to your landlords, right? what have they done/said regarding it? 'cause if they're not doing what they should be, you might be able to report them to different consumer protection organizations like health-related and business-related. ('cause that was definitely something i was looking into doing in my situation--in fact i should probably still be looking into that, since it pretty much seems that i'm going to be taking him to small claims court.)
4th Oct 2010, 07:20 #1466thanks piro. now that my roomie is moving out and i may get another one and stay, i'll definitely call pest control. my landlord is useless but i was letting james (the 'man') handle it, so i think i'll just go down and talk to him myself. my rent is so cheap i hate to have to look for a new place that i cant afford.
it sucks, but you know i was thinking about it. exactly one year ago last saturday, i was locked up in my bedroom with no bed, doing drugs and drinking whiskey straight that i paid for with random change, so hopeless and depressed. this past saturday i was backstage at a deadmau5 concert i went to for free because i was on his list. not too shabby for a year. i just gotta remember that when i start to complain about things. sobriety rocks!
4th Oct 2010, 12:23 #1467ok, i know you weren't talking to me when you said this, but i just have to say WOW. you really have come far in just a year, and it says a lot about your character that you can look at where you're at now and say 'not too shabby'
and i hope you don't think i was making light of your situation before--i just know from experience (after living in places like Florida XP) that even if you did have food, w/a serious bug infestation, who the hell even feels like eating? you look at everything and wonder what's been in it...
also, i feel kind of dumb for being upset that i may not have the funds for our costumes--at least i have a roof over my head and food for my kids, and things sure are better for us here than 3 years ago when we were at a domestic violence shelter out in the boonf#cks of Florida
so thank you for the kick in the arse~

8th Oct 2010, 09:48 #1470Yeah, we need more positive thinking in this thread.
There are people that are worse off that us in some way.
