5th Aug 2008, 22:02 #1BAH!!
All its going to be is two fat kids badly dressed as the Boys, trying to recreate Alive 07....

5th Aug 2008, 22:07 #2You know, it's not that bad really. It's not like their not you know, FANS who you know, LIKE DP a lot, so their just trying to show their appreciation.
I'm a Morrissey fan so I know plenty about tribute bands, and while yes, they may suck, that does not make them horrible people.
5th Aug 2008, 22:12 #3What kind of show will it be? They'll just spin Alive 2007 on the turntable and add some visual effects? Or will they emulate an Alive 2007 show?
Rep:
5th Aug 2008, 22:18 #4That's what I was thinking, how are they going play plus what visuals have they got!! Plus I'm sure there's a little thing called copyright surrounding it all...
5th Aug 2008, 22:35 #5LOL come on, you're just annoyed you didn't get the idea to do that first.

5th Aug 2008, 22:42 #6Not really, I just want to know how their going to pull it off. If they just spin records, how is that a Daft Punk tribute act?

5th Aug 2008, 23:07 #7Umm. isn't that kinda, um, how DP started out? You know, DJing?
it doesn't need bling and flashy stuff to be DP you know.
Katief, I think we need your "Back in my day!" DP macro.
5th Aug 2008, 23:10 #8why must there be so much randomness from some members?...
plus what exactly does a tribute band DO?!? O_o
Rep:
5th Aug 2008, 23:33 #9Very true, but most people today only know Daft Punk as there Robot Forms. Which if I not mistaken, they where only playing out live. They've never (as far as I'm aware) have DJ as Robots
A tribute act basically covers a band / artist / act's music, which leads me on to my point how does a Daft Punk tribute act work??

It would be fun. It's not as if Daft Punk tour a lot. It would be a bit silly but why the hell not. I would probably go to a club night if they were having a Daft Punk night and playing only or mostly DP, and having robots to DJ it would just be having a sense of fun.
