29th Mar 2009, 17:32 #1I figured there might have been a Thread for F1, but there wasn't, so lets start now huh?
Starting with todays Race in Australia. Who ever actually watched will know how bloody brilliant that new Brawn is. And how much they deserved that 1/2 podium win. I think Jenson really deserved the win after what happened with Honda recently. For someone who though he was out of a job, he did a brilliant job and he stands a good chance of actually winning the championship.
Lewis Hamilton did a pretty nifty job too, ending up 3rd from starting last on the grid.
Both Ferrari's failed to finish (like most races), Kubica and Vettel took each other out, rather amusing I have to admit, as Vettel ignored the rules and carried on with three wheels lol.
Anyways, anyone watch it? Whats your opinion? any fans? and general other things to do with F1...

29th Mar 2009, 17:39 #2Ahhh, I was wondering if I'd have to create this thread myself.
A BRILLIANT effort from Brawn GP on their first race. Ross Brawn has brains. No pun intended.
The fight between Kubica and Vettel was silly from both parties...instead of them both getting a reasonable amount of points they crashed into each other over maybe an extra 2 or 3 points. Silly.
Anyway, yeah, I'm pretty clued up on F1.
29th Mar 2009, 17:42 #3I was hoping at least one other person here would be

Yeah, he wouldn't have got any points for carrying on I don't think. The rules stat that if your car is damaged, you have to stay at the track side. So he brought it on himself lol.
I was extremely impressed with Brawn, what a fantastic team! I really think Button has a very good chance of winning this championship.
The only thing I'm very not keen on is the new regulations that says the more races you win... you win the championship. I like the old points system.
29th Mar 2009, 17:51 #4I only caught the final 10 laps, and theres no rereuns schelued, but from what i saw, Brawn are absolutely flying. Id love to see Hamilton struggling and Button winning the championship, just to see what the British media would say.
Unfortunately, that'll never happen.
I also think that Vettel's punishment was a bit too harsh, ten positions down the grid in Malaysia is too much for a standard racing incident.
Anyways, roll on Sepang!DAMN IT! That is such a good idea!
29th Mar 2009, 17:54 #5Well he did carry on for ages when the rules stat you have to stay track side should something go wrong with your car... and he was running on three wheels! lol.
Brawn are brilliant, I was happily surprised how good the team is actually lol. You should have seen Jenson off the line, perfection I tell ya'
29th Mar 2009, 18:03 #6I haven't seen 'Australia', it was too early (7 o'clock am)

Brawn seems to be the best this year...hope they won't lead every time, that'd be tedious at the end :/

Actually the penalty was because of the crash with Kubica, the team got a fine for letting him out on 3 wheels.
EDIT: Good news everyone! I just read that Abu-Dhabi is in trouble and the race might be delayed for 2010, being replaced by.... MONTREAL!
Canada could be set for a shock return to the formula one calendar, a local television channel reported on Sunday.
Citing rumours from the Melbourne paddock this weekend, the French language Reseau des Sports cable channel said organisers of the inaugural Abu Dhabi grand prix - scheduled as the 2009 season finale - have fallen behind in construction of its circuit.
Abu Dhabi's problems are reportedly due to the global financial crisis, with Montreal considered as a substitute despite falling off the 2009 calendar after a commercial disagreement with Bernie Ecclestone.
However, Canada would apparently not simply replace Abu Dhabi's November event, but instead host a race before the Brazilian grand prix in October, which would become the new last round of the championship.DAMN IT! That is such a good idea!

Oh right... Well that is harsh, they crashed into each other, it wasn't an attack or anything from either of them.
19th May 2009, 17:08 #9This is a slight bump so I hope you'll forgive me for that.
But is anyone else bored of Brawn winning ALL the ****ing time now? I have actually only watched about two races because I already know the out come. And lets face it, Ferrari and Mclaren aren't exactly competition this season are they?
Having said that I am looking forwards to watching Monaco lol.
19th May 2009, 17:32 #10Gosh, I won't go to the Monaco GP this year (last year I went)...I'll watch it on TV anyway =)
McLaren & Ferrari are not really ranked (yet), Brawn leads everything, there's no really competition between them like previous years, I just hope they'll wake up :/
