didnt see any posts about this, havent heard any discussion so....
This is to outline what Dubstep is and the major artists
    Wikipedia says:
Dubstep is a genre of electronic music that has its roots in London's early 2000s UK garage scene. Musically, dubstep is distinguished by its dark mood, sparse rhythms, and emphasis on bass. Dubstep started to spread beyond small local scenes in late 2005 and early 2006

For a list of dubstep artists: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dubstep_musicians
    my favorite artists are:
Rusko, Caspa, Stenchman, Benga and Coki

    some videos:
    Coki - Spongebob: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlEyR27fvGc
    Benga & Coki - Night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNStVlJWy88
    Stenchman - Signs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnHBv4dLK1c
    Rusko - Mr. Chips: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1zA910Hx-E

be sure to judge AFTER the intros (usually 30 seconds), I'll probably post more videos later

Did anyone go to BLOC Weekender a few weeks back? I posted in the thread about Beardyman already, but I went. It's primarily a dubstep and ISM festival. That was really the first time I'd experienced dub (on any level) and I have to say it was a great weekend!

I heard it was on, but no, I didn't go

I first heard dubstep about two years ago, it primarily started off in south and east london. (I think lol)

I know a dubstep artist, I'll see if I can find his myspace again.
he gave me a track called You Look S**tty, it samples the movie Hot Rod and my god.... it destroys speakers
any news about rusko? all he seems to do now is remixes? (although his Day 'N Nite & I Kissed A Girl ones are amazing)
oh, and I'm off to Evoloution Weekender in may, and Rusko is going to be there I shall report back afterwards!

i hope you didnt miss out on dubsteps new god when you were running through notable artists in the genre.

burial is the first dubstep artist to get the genre any sort of recognition from anywhere besides the underground.his sophomore album "Untrue" was nominated for the mercury music prize (should have won too,i might add) and hes basically running on universal critical acclaim.

    Anytime

ya I've heard of burial, didnt check any out as it was reccomended to me by someone who said they were "fairly new to dubstep"

there's a few genre-benders out there, it's like.... chilled dubstep
    some good examples:
    ConQuest - Forever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuNNIGOswE4
Caspa - Scared Of The Unknown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR-yt7oNgCI
