It really should be stated that House is an outgrowth of Disco, you're right. Even Frankie Knuckles claimed that house was "Disco's Revenge". I remember ION14 stating that Disco was an offshoot of house in another thread, and I had meant to point it out but forgot to.

Disco came out of the Philly Soul/R&B sound from the 60s, House didn't come around until the late-80s and early-90s with Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, Mr. Fingers, etc.

Its one guy, and yes he still DJs, but not as often. It was after his set at the House of Sol in Chicago. He played So Much Love to Give as the finale

That's pretty sweet! I'm trying to get into DJing, just got a pair of turntables and a mixer, now I just need an AMP and a bunch of House records. Finding anything that isn't Daft Punk or maybe Cassius is very tough though, most people don't even know what artists you're talking about.

Good to see people aside from DJ Falcon/The Twelves that are still spinning some French House tracks.

Chicago House is actually often mistaken for Disco where I live. It makes sense in a way, seeing as Disco is a sub-genre of House Music. Chicago House led the way for some amazing stuff. I'm always looking for this gold on vinyl!

its the other way around, disco was "invented" way before chicago house
