Re: Tron Legacy sequel: Will Daft Punk score it?
15th Jan 2011, 17:49 #21I don't think they would want to do it again for Disney (fingers crossed) but perhaps they could do a musical score for some indie film or something which they directed themselves.
But then again, they could do it separately (as Thomas did on Irreversible) and it'll be quite interesting.

"I...I see...perhaps...someday in the future..."

Re: Tron Legacy sequel: Will Daft Punk score it?
16th Jan 2011, 00:40 #22i seriously doubt it, but it won't be the same watching the sequel if i do. But i'm not happy about the sequel at all. The only reason its being done is money. Which kind of aggravates me.

Re: Tron Legacy sequel: Will Daft Punk score it?
25th Jan 2011, 21:21 #23I'd give it a 10% chance that they'll do it again.
arguments:
- they said it was reeeally tough
- disney demands control and doesn't give daft punk much freedom
- they usually don't do something twice
- usually when daft punk perfect something, they start something else
- not sure if disney is willing to put in lots of daft cash for a sequel to a film with not so good reviews
- they already pumped out like 31 tracks, if they were gonna do another they would've kept some behind instead of selling em to amazon and ebay
- I don't think the film producers would want to pay big bucks for the same thing either. It's been a big suprise that daft punk did it and it's all over tv, but It would be stupid to come with the same marketing strategy again... ''new, tron 3! with daft punk music, again!'' or ''And now, another special presentation!''
- they gotta work on a new album, DP knows the fans want something new. I do. I'd rather have them working on something else

25th Jan 2011, 23:27 #25yeah, scratch the 10%. I suppose I'll make it... 3% chanceActually, it's more like 1% chance they'll do it again.
Re: Tron Legacy sequel: Will Daft Punk score it?
26th Jan 2011, 01:57 #26Though I'm really doubting that Daft Punk would be doing the soundtrack, the fact that there's even going to be a sequel kinda excites me. I really liked the "first" movie (because come on, it's essentially the first installment in a franchise based on the first Tron) for reasons extending beyond the soundtrack, so I'm interested to see how it'll go down. Especially without Daft Punk factoring in.
Also, they'll be tapping Squarepusher for Tron 3. Totally called it.
(Alternatively, Dillinja, just for the pun of it.)

Re: Tron Legacy sequel: Will Daft Punk score it?
2nd Mar 2011, 03:13 #28Tron: Legacy was only done for money, and it turned out being awesome. Everyone knows Disney only does movies so they can make more money so they can make more movies and more money (repeat).
I doubt that Daft Punk would do the sequel, they would probably worry about selling out. I'd also rather have them working on that new album we've all been hearing about.
