Awww, I'm not sure! Maybe! I bet he probably talked about it a lot. I don't know if it's really a movie that anyone can "get" in the strictest sense but a movie that kind of invites a lot of speculation swirling around it's core meaning, you know? I think it and Electroma have that in common

And that's totally true and super adorable - It's always funny to me, reading older interviews, to see how many things tend to work out in these boys' favors, down to the littlest detail. I don't know how much of that is really pre-planning that they're never public with or how much of that is really just everything falling into place in the right way, but regardless, it's amazing and kind of perfect.

Oh awesome! As far as I can gather, it's a lot of information on Matsumoto's history and influences - At one point he talks about a trip he took to Paris at 17 where he saw 'Marianne of My Youth' and the lead actress, Marianne Hold had a super profound impact on him that went on to influence how he drew his female characters - mysterious, tall, very thin and pale with large eyes. Just like Stella - How interesting that it kind of was a full circle for him to work with the boys.

Re: Daft Punk Articles in French

Well, it's been a while, but I've got a new French article...

Here is "West Side Story" from the June 1997 issue of Rock & Folk. Urm, looks like a non interviewy-type piece with some odd headers... Starsky & Hutch, Disco, Orange Juice, Rebond? Sounds like a recipe for some especially-funky homemade explosives. And, well, they've gone and painted themselves again, all green this time. I can imagine Thomas showing up to the shoot proclaiming "Look, zees shirt will be perfect!" And Guy-Man looks at him kinda shify-eyed and mutters "But you wear zat all ze time." I just don't know what we're going to do with you two

For the 20th birthday of the magazine Technikart :

Don't read it yet so I dunno what they're talking about DP.
But I thought this drawing is pretty cool.

Edit: here's a bigger picture. Can you find out all of these people (yeah... yeah... many French guys...)
