Thomas Black Leather Jacket and Pants6th Sep 2011, 00:02 #1
Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums, but I thought I'd share some photos of a Daft Punk sewing project I recently did. The Thomas helmet here was made by Volpin Props (he is also the recipient of the outfit).

I'm waiting to get some nicer pictures back from this weekend, but I think this gets the main idea across. The jacket and pants were approximately 4-5 weeks of work and took up 10 lambskin hides, 100 yards of cording, 4 yards of rayon lining, and about 1/2 yard of coutil backing for the corded areas. I have a lot of work in progress images to compile, as well as notes, so I'll post them here soon.
Thanks for looking!

You did an absolutely fantastic job on the leathers, it truly does look like the real thing. There haven't been nearly as many replicas of Daft Punk's outfits as there has been helmets, but your recreation is hands down the best. I applaud your work.
And my condolences to your inbox, and how full its about to become with inquiries

@DaTBoYFrOMTeXaS: This is indeed the first set of Daft Punk leathers I have made. Actually, this is the first men's leather jacket and pants that I've made. It has been quite a sewing adventure to say the least.
@Beastman: Ah, no rumors! I posted on my FB a while ago that I would be definitely offering the pattern, full outfit (complex ver shown on Volpin, and the a simpler version of the outfit for sale. I'm currently working on a FAQ to answer questions I expect to get.
@Agent RayBans: Thank you for posting the new picture. I hadn't seen that one yet! I was on a time crunch for Dragon*Con, so I didn't even get a chance to take a lot of detail photos yet.
@Everyone else: Thank you for the comments!
