How much do you think their helmets would go for?

First let me say, I know they aren't selling them and I doubt they will be but I'm curious, hypothetically of course, as to how much you think people will pay for the actual helmets they wear, signed. Also, how much would you personally pay?

    Thanks.

I've already paid for countless CDs and vinyls by them. They god damn owe me those helmets!

On a serious note, the Human After All helmets I'd probably give half a grand for. They're not that technical unlike the Disovery helmet which you'd probably have to pay a good handful of thousands of dollars for.
If we let the helmets out on a free market though, the prices would be outrageous because of the minimal supply and elasticity of demand probably not being that high, because of people wanting those helmets so bad

oh, goodness MissingNo you're greatly underestimating that price there. may i remind you that if you want the company they use to make you a real, legit helmet, you have to get permission from the band AND pay up 65,000 euros? imagine if they were signed and actually worn or made an appearance somewhere. you'd run into REAL money then.

Isn't it funny? Some People don't even know who "Daft Punk" is, and we would give all our money and our lifes just for their helmets...

But wouldn't you say paying for permission is secondary costs? If we bought the helmets on an unofficial auction, I highly doubt that EMI, Virgin, Daft Arts or whoever would be waiting for a winner to crave 65,000 euros from whoever was (un) lucky enough to buy it. They'd most likely just have the auction removed entirely, but that's not part of my point.
If the helmets were sold on an unofficial auction the only thing that'd push up the prices would be the outrageous affection vaule such helmets have with fans especially if autographed, and that issue I address in my last paragraph with the low supply, high demand and low elasticity having a far too huge influence on the price.
If we were to look at what the helmets are actually worth in materials - assuming there existed no such brand or band as Daft Punk - I personally wouldn't value them higher than what I did in my first post, and I wouldn't pay more than that myself.

The price really depends on what assumptions we make about the deal. Is it official, then we'd have permissions, production cost and affection value up the arse; if it's an unofficial auction, we'd have affection value and production costs, and if Daft Punk never came up with the idea for the helmets, we'd only have the production costs. Different scenarios, different costs.

I could easily see the discovery helmets reaching over $150k USD. I'm sure a couple of wealthy daft punk fans actually exist haha. I personally (if money wasn't an issue) would gladly pay over $100k.

Re: How much do you think their helmets would go for?

A decent Not decent, damn near perfect homemade helmet like Volpin would cost you upwards to $10,000, probably more. The company who produces the authentic helmets, it would cost about 65 - 70,000 large. But if it were Their helmets. Like the original Discovery helmets, then i mean c'mon. In my eyes those would be priceless. In my eyes, They would be worth millions. But god if i had the money i wouldn't hesitate to buy them.
