23rd Oct 2011, 22:29 #3you can get petg plastic from amazon or eplastics.com. You could also try and look for it in your local arts and crafts store.

25th Oct 2011, 17:33 #5Hi,
I live in Vancouver, Canada, and I was struggling as well to find a store with affordable plexy.
Yesterday I was going to the dollar store and saw a framing shop for paintings and photos. I went in and asked, They sell pieces of 1/16" plexy with protective films on them. I paid 15 bucks for a sheet that can produce around 8 visors!
Simply go in and ask for a scrap and they may give it to you free.

25th Oct 2011, 23:30 #6if you're making a Thomas visor, what i did was take a 2 Liter soda bottle (clear), cut out where the label covers, bent to shape (took forever to get right), and spayed it with some of this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RLL-253256 which i bought at auto zone. and it worked great!

26th Oct 2011, 20:04 #9A fellow Vancouverite! I agree it's tough finding certain materials here. I lucked into my visor plastic because my school's vacuum forming workshop sells sheets of PETG for ~$5. If you need urethane resins etc. (Smooth On, for example), there's a great place on Boundary around 1st ave.
