There is no such thing as a terrible taste in music, just a different taste.

25th Jun 2012, 01:38 #2544who is "meet the pyro" and why do they have quotations?
I never got to hear the HAA remixes..
I kind of hope they don't do any more super slick music like Legacy, I like the industrial feel HAA and Homework had.
Do you think it's going to be all them, this new album? Because if they're colaborating with that Neil Rodgers guy then will they be featuring on his songs, or will he be featuring on theirs? I'm not so excited about the colab, I trawled through a couple of his songs on youtube and they were pretty meh. Maybe I just didn't find any good ones.<[>,,,<]> <[o,,,O]> <[^,,,^]>

25th Jun 2012, 02:45 #2546NILE Rodgers. Got it.
..well it certainly is funky. I like that one, but I still can't see it working to be honest..I know I'll end up liking it when it actually happens but for now I think I might just whine about the disco-funk.<[>,,,<]> <[o,,,O]> <[^,,,^]>

25th Jun 2012, 04:35 #2547And just in case you needed more proof of Nile Rodgers' awesomeness...
<<<famously sampled in Mo Money Mo Problems
<<<classic!
<<<sampled in Modjo's Lady (Hear Me Tonight)
In the 70's and 80's, the dynamic duo of Nile Rodgers on guitar (one of the best rhythm guitarists ever) and the late great Bernard Edwards on bass (one of the best bassists ever) was pretty unstoppable. Chic is definitely up there as one of the best R&B bands ever.
EDIT:
It's also worth mentioning that I really don't think that their new album is going to be "harder" like Homework and HAA. Going by the confirmed collaborations (Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Paul Williams), the album seems like it will definitely have a 70's or 80's vibe. So, it will probably be closer to Discovery than to any of their other stuff - and I, for one, am definitely fine with that!Last edited by scutheotaku; 25th Jun 2012 at 04:43.

25th Jun 2012, 08:58 #2549And Chic - Good Times is the song that inspired Gondry to have the characters-representing-instruments-n-shiit idea for the ATW video. ILLUMINATI, MAN. I'm tellin ya.
