Tell me about it. I paid less for my helmet itself. I think a little haggling will get them to lower it.

There's also Coat of Chrome (a company in PA) that has worked on my stuff before. Don't know these days how much Don (the owner) is charging, but at least that's another reference outside of Creations and Chrome with experience in chroming these type castings.

    Re: The Chrome shop thread

To help you guys out I'm gonna give yas some info. Don does fantastic work! He chromed my helmet and gloves. The gloves cost about $150 and I can't give ya an exact price on the helmet because it was included in the price of the commission. Here is his email: Don@coatofchrome.com and remember guys please be nice and courteous. (Many places won't chrome dp helmets because the people getting it chromed have been very rude in the past)

Got an E-mail reply today from a company...

    YES.

Please accept our apology for the delay in answering your e mail.

The way we chrome plastic is truly unique. Most platers that plate plastic are using a "spray on" paint like imitation chrome, or vacuum plating. It's not an authentic tank plated process. We actually tank plate the plastic as if it were metal. We triple plate show chrome (copper, nickel, chrome), your plastic parts. (Electroplate) Your pieces will even look and feel like metal when finished, go to www.4chrome.com/PlasticChrome.htm and look at the plastic v-rod fuel cell. Show Chrome Plating of Plastic costs $5.00 per square inch. Please allow 8 weeks for delivery. App. $500.

    see attachments...

When you're ready to proceed, go to www.4chrome.com/ORDERLIST.htm and print the form to send with your parts.

SOMEONE KNOW THE MEASUREMENTS OF THE HELMETS?

ALSO...do you think his APP. $500 estimate is a bit too high when the math is done? thats 500/5= 100 square inches.
