Old school trance recommendations

I know most of these but you're way off. Those aren't old school, old scholl is like the 90's and early 00's.

@ q_b I've been listening to trance for a very long time and only know artists who became known to the scene in the 90's-present day. Generally trance wasn't huge in the 80's. It really only exploded in the 90's and early 00's. Good luck finding some older ones mate and if you do please share, I'd be interested to hear how the genre started.

I'm not really much of a Trance listener, but Amoeba Assassin is pretty cool.

The arists I mentioned have tracks that sound like 'old trance', like in the days of tiestos in my memory and stuff.

would you consider as the rush comes old school trance or modern? Then I know what you're aiming at. Because if this is too modern then you're really looking for that harder 90's trance right?:

i'd say jean michel jarre made the start for trance music. Those chill sci-fi sounds with a beat really were the start of trance music (and also synthesizer music aka electronic)

Well if you had asked for some old school house recommendations I'd be making it rain right about now... as it is I think I've spent enough time around Chemical Brothers fans to know a few decent tunes.


One of the few electronic tracks of any genre that I would describe as "epic" in the traditional, prog-rock sense.


A B-side from a single that turned out to be longer than the album its title track came from. Also, at 20 minutes it's a perfect track to literally "trance" to.

And this one's kind of a borderline case (the uploader describes it as a "beautiful acid tech-housey tune") but it's an awesome track nonetheless:
