Not really a surprise, the 2 weekend setup kept me from expecting them. The annual article that Billboard releases talking about the lineup said they turned them down for the 2nd straight year

When they come back it better be ****ing epic, or just need to stop toying with us and announce they are on hiatus or something. its been ****ing 5 years since they last performed and 7 since their last album. With a grammy performance and soundtrack thrown in.

Hopefully we can at least get a CD announcement by the end of the world

dude, come on, you're acting a bit entitled. Daft Punk don't owe you (or "us") anything. they don't give a single ****, they do what they want. they never announced hiatuses before when they disappeared for years at a time, so why do you expect they would do that this time?

It's not entitlement, its frustration. Very few artists are as guarded and discreet as Daft Punk, especially now in the internet/twitter era of music where artists are telling people where they ate lunch on a given day. Don't get me wrong its which is one of the reasons I love them, but at times it's quite annoying. I don't really care about Coachella (as someone who frequents the festival, I would never expect them on the bill), I care that it's been a damn long time since they've been active making/performing studio music. And while Daft Punk doesn't owe their fans anything, I am free to express my disdain with their lack of production, as you are free to sit and wait patiently without being a condescending douchebag. I will continue to be frustrated as legitimate chances for them to make their return pass, so feel free to ignore my posts.
