Electroma Face Application room props from another film?!?

Okay, I was reading some old Electroma interviews, and found this:

"A number of additional helmets were produced for the extras. How many, is hard to say. The net figure is somewhere around 40.

Beyond these, few props were made solely for Electroma. Even the high-tech facility, where the robots have their faces slapped on, has appeared in another film.

"There's a big prize for the person who can name that movie," Bangalter jokes."

If we were to somehow figure out the movie, then how would we be able to contact Thomas? Also I'm assuming he's kidding about a reward. I will take a wild guess though and say it's from a French movie...but wait, was that scene in Electroma filmed in America?

Some of the props were in an episode of Star Trek : The Next Generation, as discussed in this thread.

That probably wasn't the 'movie' Thomas was talking about, though.

Hahaha, yeah, they're in lots of movies. That one from Star Trek - the Next Generation appears for a minute in Rocky IV. I also found another one of the props while watching Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan...



As to where the different scenes were filmed:

-the opening driving scenes were filmed probably on Highway 14 or I-395 north of LA, I know for sure that big hill they drive by is Red Hill Cinder Cone, which is in the southern part of Owens Valley
-most of the town scenes were filmed in Independence, CA. Right before they leave to go into the desert was filmed in a different town though, probably Barstow or Ridgecrest
-I imagine the lab was filmed on a soundstage somewhere in LA
-supposedly the dunes were the Glamis Dunes in the Imperial Valley, but I have no idea where the dry lake at the very end is.

Okay, I've found a dry ice lake just north east of Independace, It's the exact right shape and everything. I'm making a video where I'll match all the locations to the scenes etc etc..Look for that soon.
