Re: Sell Yours: Daft Punk Helmets for Sale

I spoke to him;he stated that he purchase the helmet from a friend and now he would like to sell it.Still fishy that he is asking for little less than 1/3 of its original cost . I'm guessing that its not the same model or even one of my helmets. I encourage anyone trying to buy from this person to make sure exactly what you are paying for and that I'm NOT associated in any way with him.

    Guy Manuel Helmet

    Hello everyone,

Sad to do it but I'm selling my Guy Manuel project I've been working on for the past year and a half. It's about 95% complete and could probably be finished in less than two weeks. I switched jobs at the beginning of the year and have been traveling nonstop and just haven't had the time to finish it.

I built this following Volpin's guide on his blog and used all of the vendors that he referred me to. I put a lot of money into the materials and outside work to give a professional quality. The helmet and glove pieces were chromed by Don at Coat of Chrome in PA and cost me about $470 just for the chroming.

I was helped with the electronics by Tekparasite who Volpin referred me to for the PCBs. You can check him out YouTube and Flickr. His work is really amazing. The lights have 9 separate patterns and their speed and brightness can be adjusted as well. I will include a guide on how to operate them.

I'll also be including the mother mold and shell used to produce this helmet in case you wanted to make replica casts and sell them.

The only thing that I didn't get to is the visor. I had a plastic company close to where I live quote me an estimate to vaccumform the visor for me. It was $120.

    You will get:

1 x Chromed and finished bucket (no detailing required, just install the electronics and visor)
2 x Chromed glove pieces (both palm and finger digits for each hand)
1 x Lighting rig ( x16 rainbows boards, x2 chin boards, x2 ear lights with red & green leds and controllers to operate all)
1 x Mother mold (made from Smooth On's Rebound 25 silicone rubber)
1 x Hard cast for the mold (made from Smooth On's Plasti-paste
1 x Mother mold for visor (if you wanted to vaccumform the visor yourself)
1 x Hard cast for visor mold

I really put a lot of detailed time and money into this helmet and I really don't want to see it go, but it just sits there and I've put quite a bit of cash into it. Altogether with building material, shipping, outside vendors, and electrical components, I've put just over $1500 into this helmet.

If you're looking for a Pro quality Guy Manuel helmet that you can have completed in a very short amount time and not spend over $5000 (like Tekparasite's sold for on Ebay) this is it. I have loads information and contacts that I've come across during this process that I will also be sharing and I'll try my best to stay available to you to help you complete the process and answer any questions you might have.

If you want to see additional pictures or video of the light assembly working contact me and I'll email you what I can.

Asking price is $1000 but willing to accept serious (and not insulting) offers.

If I get the $1000 I will ship everything for free (which will probably cost about $50 through UPS after packing, insurance, and weight) If not, we can negotiate that as well.

Thanks for looking, I really hope this can find a good home!

Re: Sell Yours: Daft Punk Helmets for Sale

Hi, I'm looking for someone to craft me both a Guy Manuel helmet(No LEDs) and a matching pair of gloves. I'm willing to talk pricing and such in pm's as I am looking for both to be complete (me not having to do anything besides sporting it.) and get a early jump on Halloween this year.

Please contact me if any sellers are interested in working out some type of deal or have any other questions about my request. Thanks!
