    My first Guy helmet

Hola everyone, kinda skipped the introduction part, was looking for additional info on the Daft punk Helmets and had run across this site! I've looked it over, and I've seen some others have some really nice progress on their helmets, and I'd thought I'd share mine. sorry for the crappy quality

the lights are just temporary. I had ordered a 30 led string of battery operated lights. 2 of them to be exact, but are too large for me to fit my head in, so I will have to string together my own led lights. They're not gonna be accurate, but I think its good for my first time.

It took me about a month and a half to get it to what it looks like now. It looks alot better in pictures haha.

Right now, I have the Thomas helmet resin'd. Just need to get some more fiberglass mat, and probably some more bondo. cant wait!

You really hit the mark given that it's a first try. And the lights add even more flare!!

    Re: My first Guy helmet

here are some more pics as requested.

I'm actually running out of room to store crap. Also, don't be hate'n on the deadmau5 heads =P Those were my first projects. My room is too small for my hobbies.

As I said before, the lights inside were just temporary since the light fixture was too big, and when installed, my head couldnt fit inside. I know what I need to do now.
Its pretty rough looking in person, there are some obvious imperfections, such as the visor does not sit flush with the rim, there is a gap between it. When I made the pepakura, the helmet was kinda wide and I had never attempted to fix it.

Also, just fiberglassed the inside of my Thomas helmet today. Hopefully will start on some bondo tomorrow! will post pics.

Personally I love your mau5heads, so no hate here! Welcome to the club, that helmets epic pants for a first try! By the way, that mau5 on the right is pretty awesome, how'd you get it like that?

    Re: My first Guy helmet

Thanks! The mau5 heads are much simpler to make lol. The black and white one was the second one I made. All it is, is two pieces of stretch fabric sewn together, and stretched around a fiberglass 14 inch globe. the ears the same way, and bolted on with wingnuts. Also the black and white one has speakers in each of the ears joined together through the head, and a headphone jack comes out the bottom so I can hook my iphone up to it. I thought that was a neat addition, since I hadnt seen anyone else do it. I'm sure there are some out there though~
