Yeah, they are a little deep, but I don't mind so much.......If it bothers me later on, I'll fix it, but right now I like where they are.

Thanks for the suggestion though! If anybody sees something I could fix, please tell me before I pay for it later.

one suggestion i would make is to attach a piece of board the same shape as the ears to the sides, cut a little piece out of the sides so the board sits flush with the template. this will help give you something to attach the ears to later. if you can avoid it you should stay clear of attaching your ears to a curved surface, its a nightmare

    Re: Guy Manuel TRON Build

Also since your helmet is scaled the same as mine using the dimensions of those ears, one fix i considered for the those ears was to shave about a quarter inch of the front face, this might make the hole in the middle look a bit small but you could re-route the inside again......which would mean having to get new circuit boards too. Actually I should shut up cause i'm just giving you more work here, sorry man, lol. It's just that this is starting almost EXACTLY like mine and i know what i'd like to do different now

All good tips, man. Much appreciated!!!!

Where did you get your foam? I plan on using insulation foam but if I can find something easier to shape it would probably help!

    Re: Guy Manuel TRON Build

I bought craft foam , i got 2 sheets i think 600mm x600mm and 150ml deep,, i liked the idea of using a big block and it was great. In saying that it was horribly expensive, like £70 which is about 110 canadian i think. But i didn't know what the hell i was doing when i started, i wanted foam, i googled it and i bought the biggest bit i could find, lol not a lot of thinking went into it.

    Re: Guy Manuel TRON Build

Okay guys...another week, another little bit of work done.

It's been a while, but I have been working....I swear! I started with the insulation foam by trying to cut most of it by hand....which had nasty results....the cuts weren't even and there were large chunks hanging off....and then I remembered I had A FREAKING CHOP SAW TEN FEET AWAY FROM ME. From there, things starting picking up speed, but i'll let the pics talk for themselves.

This tower was like 3 feet tall!

This foam is messy! Wear A respirator!

Well, that's it for now. Next stop, glueing and shaping!
