Some random projects I'm doing and/or have done26th Apr 2012, 02:14 #1
You guys ready for a stupid long post? So for some reason it occurred to me that I might share all the things I've been doing while sitting around not doing mylike I probably should have.
So anyways, for starters, I dunno if any of you guys have seen these things before, but they've recently gone ridiculous in my high school, my Deadmau5 kendama.
Painted one for a friend
Right then, here's my project for my metals 1 class. Aluminum belt buckle (how american) It's gonna be style, shiny words, black background.
Cast it, sanded/filed a bit
I should probably make a thread just for this, but eh, I don't wanna. Maybe later. Here's my Thomas helm so far. Until I get more money to buy some Bondo anyways.
Yea, pep time
Resined, sitting on my brother's mechanic toolbox in the garage.
Little sections at a time
Good god, honestly on this day, I decided I absolutely loved power tools.
Look at that unsmootheyness!
Another quick mock-up, yeah, I know, the ears are all, "RICER STYLE DEMON CAMBER OH YEAH!!"
That's all for now, maybe more later on

The first one isn't really random but it is a project. The story is that my friend noticed I was into Daft Punk.... a lot. So at first he got annoyed by it, told me to stop talking about it haha, but after listening to some songs, I created a new dp fan! So for his upcoming birthday I plan on finishing this into an Encore Thomas helmet. The best part is, he doesn't know I'm doing this! Shhhssssshhhhhh.
I have till July 1 if I want this thing to come through. Might have to re-do his face cause the "sideburns" and lower nostril visor are a bit warped.
For the second one, does anybody remember these from old Nickelodeon?
Ahh nostalgia of being a child.
My friends and I thought it would be cool to make a replica of one. And the best part about this one is, I've never made a prop, ever!
So far I stand with a simple body made of a cardboard skeleton and some floral foam.
I've also seen people modify Tron discs with brighter el wire or led's and have some interest in that.
These are some pipe dreams as of now so I'll see where I go with these things, hopefully progress.
Also that x-box is just awesome, Thomas!

That's a clean pep, zerog! I made a secret helmet for a friend once too....Until my cousin blurted out in a conversation with him" So what do you think of that Helmet's he building for ya?"
And yes, that pep does have some warping issues, but if you brace it before you resin it it should straighten out.

Yeah...I was mad. I didn't show I was mad at him, but I was angry on the inside. And then, to make it better, he got mad at me for not telling him about the "secret" status of the helmet...So it was somehow my fault?
And yeah, I'm still working on it for him. I have too many projects going on right now, so a helmet for a friend for free is not at the top of my priority list!

Nice, but will it blend?
It's comin' along nice man! Bit of advice, make sure he doesn't know there's a daft club.
Lol, dude that sucks! Oh well, it'll still probably be pretty sweet finished hm?

I'm pretty sure he knows this club exists, and that I have an account, but I doubt he even goes on here. Hopefully I'm right on that!
