A pep to an Encore in 2 months! (hopefully)

I've talked about it in a couple other threads but I'll just say it here:
In a long story short, I'm planning to turning this into a helmet for my friend. Best thing about it is it's a surprise gift! Anyway, I plan on making this into an Encore version of Thomas' helmet. Seems a bit easier (and less expensive) to do than making a chrome one. I'm aiming to finish by July 1st, but this is my first pep so I'm not that confident, but we'll see how it goes! Also thanks to cama900 for the file unfold!



I finished it by putting in the ear pieces today




I should start the resin tomorrow, then go to bondo soon after, this little guy needs some work, got a bit deformed as I built him!

On that note anyone know a good amount of resin to use for each coat?

Great work so far! What are you using for the ear cones? As far as resining, make sure to get good coverage, but don't go too thick right off the bat.

This might seems funny cause, well it is ha, but if you ever go to Burger King, the lids they have on the Icee cups reminded me of Thomas ears for some reason. And by an odd coincidence, they fit perfectly on this. I might just have to mod them a bit, maybe with bondo, still not sure, just a test for now. And cool, I'll try to get on the resin soon.

Hey this is what I wanna do with mine! haha, not for a friend, but I think I wanna do an encore one, because, like you said, they're cheaper than chrome....Nice idea with the burger king ice cream things though!

Yeah thanks guys! Bit of an update. I was able to snap a pic while resining the thing, still a bit more to do.


I know now why I see everyone here stressing the idea of using protection.
That stuff smells nasty, so now I'll say: Use some sort of mask people!!! Haha
