15th May 2012, 02:42 #25Common sense, but don't listen to that randals kid. He is the definition of a super troll. If he ever posts in my thread, I am just going to simply ignore him.
The quote I live by: "Finish what you started with".And I'm not gonna give up on this thing unless I completely screw up. I'm based on finishing it!
Can't wait to see more pictures! Keep at it!

16th May 2012, 05:54 #27I spent some of my time today trying to buff out these deformities. I did get his bottom left jaw back into shape, and slowly tried to fix the top visor. Getting some dents, but I'll take care of those later. Good thing for me is, pushing the visor down also pushes his sideburns into their correct shape! They always stuck at towards the bottom instead of the top. Like I said, slow progress, but progress none the less. By next week I should have more free time and start driving fast on this!
Because I love pictures of these things:

16th May 2012, 06:20 #28Don't you hate it when pics make your awesome helmet look like crap? Yeah...Me too!
Good progress, it's starting to look look something now. Are you using fibreglass, rondo, or casting resin for the inside?
Re: A pep to an Encore in 2 months! (hopefully)
16th May 2012, 06:39 #29I'm just using fiberglass resin for it.
Re: A pep to an Encore in 2 months! (hopefully)
16th May 2012, 06:49 #30Wait, just the resin or are you using the mat too? That is a bad idea to just use the resin, unless you put like.....20 coats on. Believe me, I have tried this before.....eventually your helmet will crack or deform, especially under the pressure of all the sanding you'll be doing.
The cost of material to completely cover your helmet with the mat on the inside shouldn't be more than 20 bucks......well worth it if you don't want your hard work to go to waste.
Or, if you have some Bondo lying around ( which you probably do since this is a pepakura project ), you could go the rondo route.
Sorry to derail your thought process but this can't end well. Just trying to help.
