Wow, it looks better already. My only suggestion would maybe to go a little easier on the resin this time. I always do a thin coat beforehand so the model can take a heavier spread of resin.

Added some support to keep the opening from slimming down

Got bored and drew on him


And went a little easier on the resin


I didn't get all of him, as I had to leave soon after, but I'll finish the base coat tomorrow morning.

Wow, you are definitely getting it right man. A lot of people don't brace their helmets before the resin, but it's a really smart thing to do.

Thanks man. Had to brace the thing, as it's kinda tough to fit my head in it width wise. Though it may be just cause my head's kinda big lol. Won't be much new for this, I'll just be adding more resin daily, look forward to next week when I'll add the cloth!

The wide trim on the bottom of that pep file is ridiculous, i trimmed almost all of it off on my helmet.

Thanks for the reference shot. I will have to trim the edges, I did a test fit today and my ears scrape the trim. Taking them out will fix that!

Huh, been a while since I've updated this. Well mostly cause there's not much to update. I've been busy for the past week and unfortunately haven't done much on Thomas until now. Just popped in to say I'll put cloth on him in the next few days. I've gotten the idea of giving this guy some chrome if he comes out good, after seeing some spray chrome for RC cars in another thread. I'll see when the time comes. As I type I'm just waiting for another coat of resin to dry while I'm watching the Stanley Cup Finals lol.
