For alive 2007 i had made a interstella T-shirt. I have worn it quite often because every time i wear that **** it reminds me of that awesome night.
Today i thought 'why not create a whole set of daft punk clothes. I am thinking of making a lot of tees and hoodies with daft punk on it. The logo, pictures, lyrics and other things that are affiliated to daft punk. i know that there are many people just like me who want to have daft punk stuff to wear. i am intending to go to a wholesaler that prints/stitches clothing for a low price and sell this with low/no profit. i want to keep it affordable for people who want to buy it.

But i don't think that i can do this on my own. i mean, i'm no Louis Vutton. So i was hoping that you can think of designs that you might like to have on a T-shirt.
And does anyone know if i might get my butt sued in terms of copyright n stuff?

well on copy right, look at all the daft punk shirts and posters being sold on there... most if not all are fakes, and I HIGHLY doubt they have the rights to use their name.

Yeah....I don't think you have to worry about the whole copyright thing with DP. Don't forget it completely, but think about all the incredibly accurate and detailed helmets people have sold over the years from DP...If they had a problem with the copyright we would have known by now.

You should be just fine with a few t-shirts!

just because people do it/have gotten away with it doesn't make it less illegal...

i say don't. simply because 90% of the fake/bootleg merchandise looks ****. people don't know how to design stuff, and other people buy it up just because it says "Daft Punk" on it. lame as... :/

I know what you mean. I was surfing ebay the other day and I say a poster and 2 shirts of Thomas' hand turning the platter on the dj hero controller. A lot of the unofficial stuff is crap.

Tempting as it is you will be on the wrong side of the law I'm afraid. So often I have thought of slapping a Daft Punk logo onto a t-shirt and opening up a shop section on this site, I'm sure I could make a fortune. But the fact is it would be illegal.

The lack of official merchandise is extremely frustrating, I'll give you that - but sure that makes it all the more worthwhile trying to find the genuine article?

The lack of official merchandise is indeed frustrating. But if you ever find it, its worn and such. I'd rather buy it fresh new. One of the reasons why I'm going to bring a butt load of cash to the next live performance after their new album release.

And regarding the whole copy right issue, one thing i do know is that the chinese are master of violating copyright and still get away with it. its all in appearance. it may look like it, but its not a exact copy. The logo for instance, the only thing that needs to be done is to "modify" some parts. make the top part of the F a bit larger and voila. Although that is not genuine i agree. But that is the technique to get away with copyright violation.

i'm one of those idiots that buys stuff that say's daft punk on it. Look at my avatar. Bought a beanie from e-bay with "daft punk" stitched on it. looks nice though. and i also got two t-shirts, one with the TRON lines from the helmets and suits with "daft punk' printed underneath in TRON letters. And one shirt with daft punk printed on it in their old appearance (where guy-man holds a cigar).

How ever i do agree that a lot of stuff just looks crap. just plain ugly, but i am selective regarding that. And the fact that people don't know how to design is the reason why i want to design stuff my self. And if possible i can present the designs to the proper organizations. You never know right. I just believe that there is so much demand but so little supply for it.

Well they wouldn't get away with it here! Aside from the legal aspect please also remember the TOS you agreed to when signing up to The Daft Club, in particular:

"Contributing posts or other material with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act is strictly prohibited."

I commend your willingness to do something to promote Daft Punk, but by intentionally doing it to make money you need to be careful. To quote your signature, if you're not in it for the music...
