    Rico the Wizard

    Who is Eric Chedeville?

After listening to so much LKC (my favorite house artists) and Rico's Spell of Love EP, I just had to ask who this guy really is.

To work with Guy-man, he must be good, but not much information is around concerning who he is (any pictures?), besides how he was a co-founder of the Pumpking label.

I noticed that he also co-produced all three songs from Crydajam, which I also like.

Anyone have anymore info regarding Rico? Itd be cool to know!

    Re: Rico the Wizard

Le Knight Club is also one of my favorites...
But that's the problem, I have searched in every single place to look who is the REAL artist, you know, their real life. But nothing, even worse, some artists just "retired" when Crydamoure closed, or some just went DJing and no more producers.

But when you are talking about Eric Chedeville (A.K.A. Rico the Wizard or Crydamoure) you can't find anything. His latest production was "Spell of Love" (http://www.discogs.com/Rico-The-Wiza.../master/211033) in the EP includes a remix from DJ Sneak.

Telling by the releases in Pumpking Records they ceased in 1995, so we can say is not longer active.

You know Sebastien Tellier? Guy-Manuel produced his album Sexuality. Guy-Man and Eric haven't worked since 2003... LIES!!
Eric is credited as co-producer in the same album, Sexuality. (http://www.discogs.com/Sebastien-Tel...elease/1261740) (http://www.discogs.com/Sebastien-Tel...elease/1362674)

By the way, Spell of Love really shows how Eric gave the his style to Le Knight Club.

    Re: Rico the Wizard

I really liked Spell of Love too. I gave a listen to the Sexuality album a while ago, it was ok.

Its interesting to hear one side of LKC, and I've noticed that Rico followed that theme style (as I refer to it) LKC had, like how their songs depict the titles.

LKC had this 'beach theme' through out their releases and Spell of Love sounds like a spell being cast. Its really neat stuff.

So do you think theres a chance of LKC reviving, since they're supposedly defunct? I also wonder what Guy-man would produce alone...

    Re: Rico the Wizard

I really doubt it. Crydamoure had success, then, the question is, why did they closed?
Money, lack of artists (I don't think so), lack of promotion, Daft Punk projects (after Crydamoure closed, Guy-Man started to work again with T Bang in Human After All).

    They stopped for some reason.

Yeah that would be cool, actually you can have a taste, search for "Sebastien Tellier - My Poseidon" (I think you already heard it, though).

    Re: Rico the Wizard

I read somewhere that they got bored of making that style of music. They said that was a period in their life that was over, the partying/club scene.

Its a shame, LKC were something else. But hopefully Rico comes out with some new stuff soon, maybe we will see Guyman collaborate?

I believe, but there are too many sources with different meanings.

    Re: Rico the Wizard

    Thanks for posting that.

I remember that the article I read, stated that Thomas said Crydamoure was over, but Roule was still going.

Hopefully, they're not over. Then again, how credible are those sources? I have no clue.

Hopefully, Rico is still going. He's only released the Spell of Love EP, which was back in 09.

    Yeah...
Did anyone know what the genre of the sample in "Spell of Love" that comes from 2:09 ?
Rhumba? Salsa? Those latin beats are so soulful

    Re: Rico the Wizard

    It sounds like salsa.

    Maybe someone can identify it....

I can't wait till he releases more stuff, well hopefully, cause its the closest thing we'll get to LKC.
