    Revolution 909 sample- "go"

I know there are a lot of theories out there about where the "go go go" comes from in Revolution 909 and I am here to throw another one out there. Heard this on an old school radio station and am surprised it hasn't come up yet in the discussion (if it has of course then I apologize)

"sample" starts at 00:21, what do you guys think?

    Sounds pretty close actually!

This is the sample I think they used though:

If you listen closely to Rev 909 I think it sounds more like "jump" then like "go".

    Or it could be this:

    Re: Revolution 909 sample- "go"

I highly doubt it's a sample of Kriss Kross' Jump, despite what a lot of people seem to think. To me, the video that Ridley posted almost proves that Jump wasn't the sample - to me, they sound almost nothing alike. The sample in Revolution 909 is clearly making an "oh" sound, and that definitely isn't in the Jump part. The part in Jump is making a "uh" or "uhmp" sound (obviously, since they're saying "jump").

I think that both the Motownphilly and Treat Em Right parts are much more likely suspects. Both have the "oh" sound, and both modulate in pitch a little every other syllable, just like the part in Revolution 909. I also find Motownphilly to be a very likely sample source for Daft Punk, since DP had said in a few interviews from that era that they were fans of the New Jack Swing genre ("Motownphilly" being a typical early 90's example of the New Jack Swing style).

    Re: Revolution 909 sample- "go"

It's definitely a sample of something. You can hear it as 0:13 in "Live And Learn" by Joe Public (which is, guess what, New Jack Swing) edited in a style more closely to how it appears in Revolution 909:

But that song has like 12 different samples in it, so it's not likely to have been the original source. What we need to do is find the "wellspring" track that all of them sampled.
