Disco Punk Helmets!
12th Jun 2012, 21:47 #1Hey guys! So a while back, PedroAloha posted a thread about some daft punk disco balls that he found on the internet. Right Here:

As I was reading through the thread I saw some comments that started to spark an idea in my head.
And there it was! DaftSauce is going to make Daft Punk Disco Helmets! Even Mr. Pinski claimed he wanted to do the same thing later on, but I guess I am beating him to the chase.
So here is the plan my lovelys: I will be using two pepakura files. One is the HAA file that Cama made and the other is a Thomas that Mr. Pinski and Zer0g have used (I honestly don't know who made it though). I have had no experience with casting helmets, so that will be out of the equation PLUS I don't really want to spend the extra $300. The helmets will be bondo based, painted, and then glittered with the reflected mirror squares. The visors won't be covered in the reflective mirror squares. You will be able to see out of them.
In that case, I may have to drop the work of my Guy Man for a while. I have ran into a bunch of speed bumps with him. But with a year of trial and error experience, I am confident that these two helmets will come out very nicely. I am hoping to get both of them done before October 1st.
Now all I have to do is find a Windows computer since I'm a Mac user to print out the files. I hope to bring an update within the next week or so.
See you then!

12th Jun 2012, 23:15 #4Awesome! And you dont have to get them super glass smooth before the mirrors or anything

P.S. It would be awesome if you do it in one way mirrors so that you can actually see through the visor parts!Last edited by cama900; 12th Jun 2012 at 23:41.

12th Jun 2012, 23:54 #5That would be cool, but wouldn't that be a little expensive? I think I might just stick to old fashion.

16th Oct 2012, 01:53 #7So you know how I said I would like to have this project done by October 1st? Well it's what, October 15? Yeah, I didn't get anything done unfortunately.
Something big got in the way that took up my whole summer. Hopefully by November when I am halfway through my semester, I will get a start on this project. Don't worry. I haven't given up on this idea yet.
Remember, only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise... and many Bothans died to bring you this post! www.facebook.com/9336industries

16th Oct 2012, 02:06 #9Maybe you should get a pink visor like mine. Then *inhales sharply* both of us will have head-bangin' chick magnets!!

I promise I'll get to using that thing sometime
