"LOL" sounded like an actual chart-topping 80's ballad until it took a turn for the Green Day. When pop culture's current frenzy of 80's nostalgia eventually extends to When In Rome you might want to consider reinventing your sound.

    Re: All That We Are

i sussed "loser of love" and, speaking as a fan of post-hardcore, punk, ska, and pop-punk (just to avoid arguments suggesting i don't understand the genre), i feel like this is kinda cheesy (even though i can admit, pop-punk does have its tendencies to be cheesy).
i wanted to leave this out, but i can't think of anything better to illustrate my point; and that is that it sounds like something i could imagine the main character playing at the end of a disney/nickelodeon film.
i imagine that "unique, misunderstood" punk rock girl (played by a young lindsay lohan) whose parents constantly ground her, over semi-rebellious behavior. she sulks, writes music, blah, blah. she eventually catches her mother dancing and singing enthusiastically to some eighties pop music, and it is revealed that she was once a teen. after exchanging the whole, "wow, your music taste was horrible as a child", "i'd say the same for you", the two share a moment where they're dancing and singing to eighties pop music. a change for young lindsay.
we skip forward to the end, and she's on stage in front of fellow students at her high school. everything's quiet and she's standing there nervously. the lights shine on her as she hums these first few measures, along with the soft, melodic arpeggios from the guitar. we hit a dead silence, and then "BAM!" we have our pop punk phase of the song.
all the students dance and cheer, and we catch a glimpse in her parents dancing as well; along with the principal and her high school nemesis.

edit: just to give credit where it's due, i didn't mind the start of "i'll give you the universe". it gave off some vibes similar the starting line, which brings me back.
