There are still some things which I would like to change to the song (e.g add some hard open hi hats near the end and maybe a scream vocal in the chorus looped?)

Not bad, I think it could do with a bit more of a melody though. Maybe add an extra synth or two to the mix? Other than that it sounds good, I like the sample loops you've made and I wouldn't argue with your plans for finishing it either
