List of Daft Punk's Fourth Album Collaborations
2nd Jul 2012, 14:31 #1Hi there! So I want to make a list of the "confirmed" artists that Daft Punk are collaborating with on their fourth album for a new news item to keep everyone informed.
If you have any information to contribute such as names, sources, dates, etc. then please reply to this thread or pm either me or the other news mods (daftnews or DaPunk) with the details.
Also, if you happen to have any general info on the artists themselves then that would also be appreciated. It will give us an idea of what kind of music we may be able expect.Last edited by DJ_Sam_909; 2nd Jul 2012 at 14:34.

2nd Jul 2012, 15:12 #2Nile Rodgers
Giorgio Moroder
Paul Williams
Chilly Gonzales (however as he is releasing his own album in the upcoming weeks, there may actually be a collab with DP on HIS album)
Panda Bear (may be fake, there have been lots of interviews with him recently, nothing about dp in any of them)
Jay Z and Kanye were mentioned but i'm pretty sure it was bull****.
And i think that is the complete list.Thomas Bangalter on EDM - "Maybe it's just one guy called Eric David Morris."This is the alcohol your son has been killed by an police.

2nd Jul 2012, 15:58 #3Studio musicians from Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' album, was brought up.
And I might as well mention it again. A long, long time ago, there was an interview with Peter, Bjorn and John, where one mentioned that they had been talking with Daft Punk about a collaboration, though, it wasn't - at the time - followed up on. Since then the interview has been lost in cyberspace, but here's the thread I coincidentally started about it (http://www.thedaftclub.com/forum/sho...-Collaboration), and luckily Champiness quoted the important part from it,
"We've already had several discussions with Daft Punk for future collaboration, but they are very busy with music from Tron at the moment." - This could be for a Peter, Bjorn and John track, though, and not the other way around.Last edited by MissingNo; 2nd Jul 2012 at 15:59. 2nd Jul 2012, 18:27 #4Well considering his new album is called "Solo Piano II", I'm guessing it's not going to be very collaboration-heavy. Plus it's easy to see why Thomas and Guy would want a talented pianist like him on their album considering their apparently "organic" approach this time around.

Re: List of Daft Punk's Fourth Album Collaborations
3rd Jul 2012, 02:00 #6Paul Williams was the first to mention something concrete, I believe. It was this video that pretty much started it all with anything about the 4th album. Then the collaborations with Panda Bear and 'Thriller' musicians was mentioned on Les Inrocks (Also mentioned on Death and Taxes).
Re: List of Daft Punk's Fourth Album Collaborations
3rd Jul 2012, 03:25 #7No, Panda Bear was actually the first to talk. Though it was only when Paul Williams announced his involvement that anyone actually started believing the rumors.

7th Jul 2012, 14:37 #8I have it on good authority and contacts inside the industry that Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter are working on this album.
