the makers of the games got the name from director Ridley Scott. The "Sir" part isn't from the director, even though he is a "Sir". It's from a comic based on the games where a minion calls him "Sir Ridley".

I always presumed your name was from the director... and Sir was just added to make it sound more posh

Wow, I never knew that! There are only two associations I have for the name "Ridley": the boss from the Metroid series and Ridley Scott. It's weird that they're kind of related.

Well, the makers of the original Metroid game for the NES were seemingly inspired to some degree by the movie Alien by Ridley Scott (female heroine in space, creatures that attach to the head etc.), so it's a fitting homage. Even the design of Ridley in Super Metroid seems to be inspired by the design of the alien itself. And that's true, there aren't many Ridleys out there. ^^

I think that sounds much better than DJ Hoosteen. If you had a pipe, a deep, throaty voice and seductive eyebrow movements you'd look really cool when saying "Call me Mr. Hoosteen".

Perhaps just use your real name? Or a shortened version of your real name (if you don't think your name will appeal to/be easily pronounceable by international audiences)?

If not that, then I'd go with "Mr." before "DJ" anyday. IMHO, these days "DJ" is about as cool as "MC," i.e. it's not.
