Good idea! That could be a fun way to easily get a quick listen to everyones work!

I have some questions though:
Who would mix it?

Who would choose the tracks/artists to be featured? Would the one mixing choose tracks or would everyone submit one or two tracks that they think represent what they do?

That's what I wanted to talk to everyone about. We need to find who would be best suited for what jobs. I would like it to be mostly original songs, but remixes and mash-ups of daft punk songs would be good. We need to stick to the underlying theme of daft punk, of course. We could include a poll later on, but for now I think it's best just to discuss it. We need more daft club users to post in this thread if we really want to get this thing going. Thanks all!

I love the idea! Would it just include snippets of each song like you'd normally hear in a megamix? Or will it simply be one song after another with cross-fading between them?

To avoid an 8 hour long mix and huge file sizes, I think it would be best to hear little snippets like a typical megamix. But if anyone wants to pitch in and discuss, That's fine because it's not like I am the god of this project or something, I want to make this as a community effort to show who we are as a community of daft club members!

How do you want it to work? It's a community thing and I want the members to decide how it's going to be organized and how it's going to work. So tell me your ideas, and get feedback from other members, listen to their ideas, etc.

Okay, how about this:

People pitch their ideas to this thread for the songs they think best represent their talents as an artist. We could have one, or a group of people make the megamix (members could put themselves forward and we'll have a poll to choose the best person(s) for the job). Before they begin, the "chosen one" makes a list of all the songs they've picked and we can suggest any songs to be added or changed before a given deadline. Then they'll make it, keeping us updated of course, and then we'll have a megamix!

Someone else can contribute artwork for the album cover (we probably also need a title), preferably with liner notes to credit all the contributing artists and every member of The Daft Club who were involved with the project (we should probably have a preview of this to make sure everyone is fairly credited for their work) as well as the names of each track and their respective artists.

We could also have a separate mix for Daft Punk remixes, covers and mash-ups, etc. as a "bonus disc" which would mainly consist of work from artists from the megamix. However, if there are some exceptional DP remixes from some of our forum members they could also be included.

I could also discuss this with the other news moderators to put a news story about this project on the front page of the website to give it some more attention. I'd really like to see this project take off
