Eurogamer Expo 2012 London UK

Hey guys!

I've been away for a bit with work and such but I'm really excited as us Brits only ever get a taste of what America has embraced for decades and those are CONVENTIONS!!!

So imagine how excited I was to learn that Eurogamer Expo 2012 was going to be in Earl's Court and i was (hopefully) off work!

Some of you guys know that a large majority of Cons are the Cosplay part where people dress up as their favourite Comic/Game/TV/Film/Cartoon characters and I think it's fair to say that a majority of Daft Punk fans wish to be the charismatic Robots, even for a day, which is what I will hopefully be doing this september :-D I know this is only a "Gaming" Convention but for us that's as good as it gets until we can get our asses over to the US of A and attend DragonCon or similar

What are your guys thoughts on Cons and Cosplay?

The title of this thread doesn't really match the purpose which is kind of misleading xD

I'm quite disappointed that I can't go to this convention because I'll be in Australia during that time and I live just outside London too!

Cosplay is kind of cool but I've never been able to find decent costumes. Ever. If I want to find a costume I'm looking for I'm pretty much going to have to make it myself and I just don't have the expertise to be able to do that. I suppose if I looked hard enough I could find something online but even if I did it'd probably be quite expensive or it wouldn't fit me, etc. I just don't have good luck with costumes, not sure why. Haha

and this will be my first Convention and also the first time ill be wearing my Thomas Bangalter outfit out in the public, so i'll try and get as many pictures as i can, i only live around 50 minutes from london but London's Comic Con is in october so you may be able to get to that :-)

Not sure, perhaps something more general like "The Cosplay/ Conventions thread"? Then more people can get involved in that side of the discussion.

And I'll be in Australia until early December I would've loved to attend Comic Con too, I've got a few friends who are going and I just feel gutted that I'm going to be on the other side of the world the whole time xD

I'm gutted im missing London's Comic Con too, i think im at work but if im not I will be all over that
